Concerned about the working class? Want to lift everyone up? Sick of your tax dollars paying to kill and imprison people? You might be a socialist. We can be the future for the majority!
Always a pleasure to learn about some of the lesser-known Wisconsin socialists! Emil Seidel and Frank Zeidler are big names, but there's many more to learn about.
Good morning Northeast Wisconsin!
We are looking for the donation of a bookshelf to support NEW DSA's political education through a Little Leftie Lending Library.
Inquire via DMs if you have an old bookshelf to contribute!
On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Nazis’ systematic program of mass murder, along with the millions of others murdered by the Hitler regime. We remember the scale of this horror, and the systems of hatred and dehumanization that made it possible — and that still echo in our world today. In New York City, home to more Holocaust survivors than anywhere else in this country, that memory lives among us and shapes who we are. The resilience of survivors is woven into the very fabric of this city, and it calls on all of us to act with courage and clarity in the face of injustice. Today, as antisemitism rises once more, we are reminded that remembrance alone is not enough. We must confront hate wherever it appears. As we light the yahrzeit candle, let us come together to protect its fragile flame — and shield it from the cold winds of hate and cruelty. “Never again” is a promise. And it is one we must fight to keep.

Wisconsin had a fantastic election outcome this week. What better way to celebrate than with pizza?
That's right, TOMORROW at 7 pm, we will be meeting for dinner at Glass Nickel Pizza in Green Bay!
Congratulations are in order for two DSA members!
Join us in celebrating Jon Shelton and Alec Lefeber's election to City Council in Green Bay and Oshkosh, respectively. This is a big next step as we continue to grow and organize outside of Madison and Milwaukee.
It was not that long ago when conservatives had a chokehold on every branch of Wisconsin government, piles of Koch and Uline money, and seemed unstoppable. People worked FUCKING HARD to change that shit and now look at em. Change is always possible and never ever easy.
A jolly fellow with a big beard and a jean jacket kitted out with lefty political buttons holding up his "I VOTED" sticker.
Pete has voted today! Have you?
The polls are open until 8 pm tonight. If you are in Brown County District 10 and haven't already, check that box for Pete Borchardt, our Co-Chair and endorsed candidate!
You can also find him on Bluesky @petethenoob.bsky.social
If you are in District 10 of Brown County, be sure to check the box for our Co-Chair and chapter-endorsed candidate, Pete Borchardt!
REMINDER:
Tomorrow is Election Day in Wisconsin! Though voting is not the only means by which we effect change, it is still an important one. The big election on tomorrow's ballot is for the WI Supreme Court between Democrat-supported Chris Taylor and Republican-backed Maria Lazar.

Milwaukee DSA demands release of Islamic Society president detained by ICE
Yesterday, legal resident and Islamic Society of Milwaukee President Salah Sarsour was detained by ICE. We suspect he was targeted for his pro-Palestinian activism.
We unequivocally condemn this lawless abduction and stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.

Lastly, at 5 pm, we will be headed to the Glass Nickel Pizza in Green Bay to socialize and unwind after a busy day.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!
Then, at 3 pm, Pete is going out for another two hour shift of canvassing. Again, we need all hands on deck, so we want as many people as possible to sign up for either the morning or the afternoon shift.
Immediately after canvassing, we will be holding our monthly chapter meeting at 1 pm at the Brown County library on 515 Pine St.

We have a LOT for you to do THIS Saturday!
First, at 11 am, our Co-Chair and endorsed candidate for Brown County Board of Supervisors Pete Borchardt needs all hands on deck to knock doors and get out the vote! Meet his team at the Brown County Democrats' office to join.
Thank you to the community for expressing your concern about our voter guide. This voter guide is not an endorsement. Our endorsement process is only open to engaged members who have formally joined the chapter as a dues paying member prior to announcing a run for office. Ideally, it should be members who are deeply involved in the chapters work and are running because they are a member and they want to further our political platform in local or state office. Our process includes a questionnaire where members need to show us how their run furthers the chapter's work and then an interview with chapter members where we assess things like character and resolve, followed by an all-chapter vote. The only members who have our endorsement and have engaged fully in this process that are currently running for office are Pete Borchardt, who serves as our chapter co-chair and Francesca Hong, who is a member of the Madison Chapter. The individuals running for office in our guide are a mix of members who chose not to engage in the endorsement process, members who are not eligible for endorsement, and non members. The thing they have in common is that their political platforms line up at least 60% with our platform. Many line up with more than that. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, just stand out people who have come across our executive committee’s desk as candidates who have policy that are a good match to some of our policy. These individuals do not necessarily perfectly reflect our values nor were they consulted prior to being added to this guide. This list is considered political, it is not about the personal. If you have material information that is a concern about one of our members, please reach out to our grievance officers, you can email them at newdsagrievance@gmail.com. We have a formal process in place that must be followed. We take grievance and harassment very seriously and follow our process by the book.

We've got some exciting news, and this is NOT an April Fools joke!
NEW DSA is proud to launch our voter guide for the upcoming elections on April 7th! Below are the candidates whose priorities are aligned with ours, as well as candidates we don't recommend.
(Repost with corrections)
Thanks for clarifying that you yourself are the candidate. We would like to get to know you a bit better, especially since you're in our area. Please email dsagreenbay@gmail.com so our co-chairs can arrange a one-on-one and the committee can review your platform.
Hi Luke! To clarify, are you asking us to formally endorse a candidate for Winnebago County District 6, or to name the candidate as likely to support our priorities in our voter guide?
As a last-minute addendum, we also do not recommend Mike Janke for Appleton Area School Board. He is endorsed by Moms for Liberty.

Photo of the assembled crowd marking the start of the Green Bay No Kings march. Four people in the front are carrying a white sheet reading "For the many, not the FEW, N.E.W. DSA." Northeast Wisconsin DSA co-chair Pete Borchardt is facing the crowd wearing a high-visibility marshal vest. Democratic primary candidate for US House Katrina DeVille is to his right, speaking to him. Some of the signs carried in the march read "NO KINGS, not in 1776, not today, not EVER," "Only YOU can prevent Fascism," "Imagine being afraid of diversity and not dictatorship," "Trump puts the SA in USA," "Empathy NOT Oligarchy," "Fuck Trump, end the Blockade."
