AI makes code cheap to produce, but it also creates false confidence. The scarce thing is still the tribal knowledge of why the system works the way it does and who you can rely on to fix it when it does not or explain it to regulators. System comprehension is still the real work.

It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly

Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way

It’s like the sorcerer’s apprentice bit from fantasia, but generating an endless loop of Rocky and Bullwinkle “But that trick never works.. This time, for sure!”

The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.

Behind every Rockwell automation PLC incorrectly exposed to the internet.

Is an IT department that just said no when asked about setting up a vendor with remote access.

Just saying.

Adobe fixes PDF zero-day security bug that hackers have exploited for months | TechCrunch It's not clear how many people were compromised by this hacking campaign, but a security researcher said the hackers were targeting victims since at least November 2025.

New, by me: Adobe has fixed a bug in its flagship PDF readers that hackers have been abusing for at least four months to break into people's Windows and macOS computers and steal data.

A security researcher who discovered the hacks said it works by tricking victims into opening a malicious PDF.

Joy Division and New Order are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. About time, considering Blue Monday is the best-selling 12-inch single of all time.

"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope."

Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war.

A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic.

Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope.

there are cases where it's unclear if someone doing harm is just in over their head and bumbling in a way that's hurting everyone, but Aaron Swartz saying "Sam can never be trusted. He is a sociopath. He would do anything." is maybe the most rock solid trustable statement possible from a real person

Roughly, left of the dark area is part of the far side of the Moon, not seen from Earth. The big round feature is the Orientale impact basin, the Moons youngest. That area was in darkness for all the Apollo flights so the Integrity crew are the first humans to see it with their own eyes

@davidgerard.co.uk I paid for Claude, just so I could add native UVC / V4L2 support to OpenPHD2, because I desperately want it and it was the fastest way I could get it. Am I going to hell?

Japan just unveiled a drone made entirely of cardboard. It flies at 120 km per hour, can be assembled in 5 minutes, and is designed to be used in massive swarms. The craziest part is it can be mass produced at any regular cardboard factory. The future is cheap.
