The mature necrosite sports an exoskeleton of an almost rock like chitinous material. It is hard to penetrate but more brittle in nature.
The problem these nasty guys face, is wearing hats is pretty much out of the question with these irregular head shapes.

Necrosites take over the brain of a freshly deceased or mentally incapacitated body and start using it as a resource. It’s like a gundam. Only that the young school girl is a homicidal bacterial culture and the mech is one of the more grotesque designs.

As the change moves ahead, the necrosite develops a hard outer shell that presents quite beautifully in its disturbing way. Ridges and clefts form that ooze with tendrils and all kinds of alien biology.

This is likely the most interesting/gross stage of the maturation process. The change from a endoskeleton build to an exoskeleton build will leave your joints with a huge problem. This leaves necrosites quite vulnerable in the early stages.

Many Necrosite strands use other animals as transmitters and additional biomass for the transformation. That process is often referred to as a Cranial Coronation.

The Geothermal reactor was really fun to work on. The shape design is quite free and works well with all the molten rock and lava.
@brisbin.exr put his back into this one. We were quite close to our deadline, but made it through in the end :)

I have always enjoyed these old school textbook looking designs. The Microbial Biome of the Terminus, the most normal, not haunted space station in the universe, was a great chance to play around with that style.

The Crystal Reactor grows in areas where the winds are the strongest.
This was the first larger project I did together with Thanos Sotiriou. I worked out the concept and directed him, as he built the 3D models. I painted over it and illustrate the card itself.

The Stellar Reactor was too fun to work on! The brutalist look of the architecture and the weird formations are such a fun combination. The stellar biome of the Nyxlands is most certainly one of my favorites.

The Potent is a design by an alien intelligence, that has been out of touch for unknown periods of time. The form language bridges the gap of organic growth, transcendental design and unknowable secrete geometries.

In January I started working with Nyx Studios as art director. The first thing we tackled was world building and establishing a pipeline for the art production for The Nyxlands of Havoc. It is such a pleasure to work with so many passionate professionals :)
I like to refer to Potents as wibbely wobblers. Cute little eldritch buggers! Designing alien technology is always fun, but trying to express corruption, otherness and a horrific sense of foreboding right there at the back of your mind, just makes my tear ducts bleed oh so good.

I like the tall boys in Frankfurt. It's 6 if you ask me. Has a nice high gothic touch to it. Especially if the tavern is close to the cathedral.

A slum Hanging from a huge elevator spralls through out the massive elevator shaft of hive Tertius.
I got to do another hive city shot. This time for Hive Tertius from the new Darktide tie in Wrath and Glory book. There is something about these tall images that's extra fun. Disorienting and fun.
Now this guy is hot! Looks great!
