Is the timber industry still active in the areas or are the forests now mostly no longer used for commercial harvesting? I presume that on a worldwide basis we are using less wood now than in the interwar period.

Each of the 4 title pages with an engraved illustration. Orig. drab boards, somewhat soiled and extremities rubbed. Remnants of paper labels on spines. The first edition. The set is usually 4 volumes bound in 2. It is unusual to find the 4 individual volumes, here in their original state, as published.

Doesn’t the Federal Government fund the Smithsonian? It seems impossible to know which job is stable. Hmm, now that I think about it - I wonder if book selling is a stable job? (Narrator: It was in fact the most unstable of all.)
