🔊 New study dives deep into the Duke Misophonia Questionnaire (DMQ) using advanced psychometric methods.
A refined 5-factor model improves how we measure misophonia severity—bringing clarity to the science of sound sensitivity.
I'd like to stay in the US, but am open to international positions if the fit is right :)
I am thrilled to share that my first first-author publication is now out! If you've ever been interested learning how to apply machine learning variable selection methods for classification problems, I have the tutorial for you! #QuantitativePsychology #Psychology doi.org/10.35566/jbd...
I have had a TON of people asking how they can help...here is what would help us the most right now: SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE!
Tell us why you #standupforscience2025! Send flyers to your colleagues and labs! Change your bluesky banner! Tell your professional orgs and departments!
there's nothing more rewarding than hearing that students i've mentored have successfully gotten into a phd program!!!
DEAR UNIVERSITIES:
This seems like a really cool opportunity to gain unique training in an area of the job where training is often null and void. If anyone wants to speak on their experience with this fellowship, I'd love to hear!
i've had people tell me to do exactly this. never fails to drive me crazy.

Working w/ a reporter on the consequences of the NIH/NSF freezes (e.g., training pipelines, how grants support clinical time for trials)
If you've had a grant impacted, some organizational perspective (e.g., in APPIC leadership/DCT role) + are willing to share your experience please shoot me a DM
Per an NIH source:
“Discussions with colleagues have suggested that if the universities all come together and raise hell about the delays to funding caused by not holding meetings, that might move the needle. From every state. There are well-funded universities in red states that will be impacted.”
A good article by Stephanie Lee that reviews some scenarios for NIH. www.chronicle.com/article/here...

An executive order ending birthright citizenship is effectively a suspension of the U.S. Constitution, just so we’re clear about what is happening.
1/5. I just finished re-reading King's "The Role of the Behavioral Scientist in the Civil Rights Movement"--a speech he gave at the American Psychological Association in 1967.
I revisit this speech every few years; much of it remains relevant.

Zotero is great and I think that anyone who needs to organise and cite more than a handful of references should be using it. Here's an intro to Zotero that I made for my undergrad students (but the info is relevant for anyone new to Zotero).

Have you ever wanted a better theoretical understanding of a Q-Q plot? One of my undergraduate teaching assistants wrote a blog post about this! It’s so cool to see my students sharing what I’ve taught them with the world at large!
