Covid gave us hybrid work. The Iran War might give us a 4-day week—and this time, experts say it could stick | Fortune As governments across Asia slash the working week to save energy amid the Iran War, workers have never been closer to a permanent three-day weekend—but it won't be for everyone.

Unintended consequences of this stupid foreign policy endeavour might be as big a societal shift as COVID stay at home mandate caused:

We shouldn't even bother with counties on online forms. Who cares? It's a redundant part of the address. I'd like the productivity gain from expunging them from all forms.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy.

Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.

I once heard a cutting assessment of someone’s intellect in Argentinian Spanish that went jugas al tetris y giras el cuadradito. It means “you spin the square tile on Tetris.”

This #InternationalMensDay let's break the silence around men's mental health & wellbeing. Too many struggle alone - huge stigma remains about asking for help. It's a sign of strength to ask for support. Let's check on the men in our lives & ensure everyone feels safe to share when they're not ok.

I too have had this exact thought!
But every time it crosses my mind there must be enough new #Bond since the last Austin Powers movie to lampoon, I remember how #Spectre literally used the plot from #Goldmember and then I understand why Myers hasn't gone back yet...

Would you really trust a robot to care for you in old age? It sounds like something from a sci-fi film - but some scientists believe this clever new tech could help alleviate strains on the UK care system

As someone who has been tracking the development of #robot tech for 15+ years, I think it is a great idea for robots to be involved in social care.
Just feels like the story saying it is coming rolls round every year or two with no real sign it might actually happen:

Also can't help wondering if they might have sold out already if they had a #neo model based on the machine in #Subservience

Pretty sure they are going to sell out of #neo real quick.
Have seen too much media about ai and robots going wrong to not want to wait for a later generation when any potential bugs have been ironed out.
Am also very much thinking of #asimov and his #robots series of stories.
