The provincial election is over and the vote splitting was a huge issue but we know we cannot fix things overnight! The work of Common Ground Ontario and many others is just getting started and so this is not the end; it is just the start of a movement BUT we just need a week or so to rest :)

Doug Ford is a generational politician. But while he may dominate Ontario politics today, he has a lot of ground to make up before he can claim the top spot in the electoral history books of the province. medium.com/p/how-doug-f...

Etobicoke-Lakeshore live Ontario election results Etobicoke-Lakeshore live Ontario election results

Hogarth was an explicit anti bike lane candidate, there at the Bloor west announcements to kill them, quite visible. And she lost. Bike lanes are a settled issue in Toronto. In the last mayoral election the anti bike lane candidates lost.

Becoming a bit of a recurring theme at this point, as right-coded politicians keep thinking attacking bike lanes is a path to electoral success. Didn’t work in the mayoral by-election either. I’m thinking it’s just generally not a salient issue — even bike skeptics have bigger things to worry about.

Doug Ford’s anti-bike lane Bill 212 was always bad policy, but now also seems like bad politics. PCs handily lost Etobicoke-Lakeshore last night, home of the “controversial” Bloor West lanes. And PC vote share in bordering Etobicoke Centre was basically flat from 2022. What was the point?

How Toronto voted: Liberals make gains at expense of PCs and NDP Despite Doug Ford’s third majority, the Liberals regained territory in Toronto on Thursday, taking back seats from the PCs and NDP.

While Ontario Premier Doug Ford won a 3rd majority government, his PCs lost ground in Toronto to Bonnie Crombie’s Liberals, including the ouster of Christine Hogarth in Etobicoke-Lakeshore who touted plans to remove the Bloor bike lane www.thestar.com/politics/pro...

Well I am the first in line to vote at my polling station. They got me a chair.

GET OUT THERE ONTARIO! Don’t let me down.

We do not want 4 more years of Ford because of voter apathy. Don’t let a little snow slow you down.

Edward Keenan: We’re all better off when more people vote — but here’s the real reason to cast your ballot today A vote for someone who doesn’t win isn’t “wasted” as some people claim — it’s counted the same as the others.

Like @thekeenanwire.bsky.social here, I've always appreciated the communal aspect of voting. It really IS a pleasure. I even met a new neighbour at the polling station this morning. 🥰

A reminder to folks who will be voting at Jack Purcell Community Centre today — there is no parking on site. Please park on Elgin or nearby side streets. Or if you can, walk over.

Why do Ford’s PC candidates expect to get the job, when they won’t show up for the interview? It’s a shame that our democracy is such a pain in the ass for Doug. #onpoli
