They reveal why movies matter in the first place. From childhood memories to films that changed my perspective, this is a personal look at how movies shape us. How 3D Printing Changed the Way I Organize My Movie Collection
How 3D Printing Changed the Way I Organize My Movie Collection A simple idea turned into a complete rethink of how I organize my movie collection. In this video, I walk through how a custom 3D printed solution helped me move beyond alphabetical order, and start building a collection that’s easier to use, more flexible, and more personal. This isn’t about buying more movies. It’s about making the collection you already have work better for you. From early failed attempts to a modular system that evolves with my collection, this process changed how I think about organization, accessibility, and what actually matters when you’re living with your movies day to day. Would you organize your collection this way? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. What Actually Matters When You Buy Movies? (Collector Mindset Explained)
What Actually Matters When You Buy Movies? (Collector Mindset Explained) What actually matters when you decide to buy or upgrade a movie? Is it the film itself, the format, or the edition you’re holding? In this video, I’m breaking down how I think about collecting, and how that’s evolved over time. From Criterion upgrades to Steelbooks to sticking with a simple Blu-ray, this is a real look at the decisions behind the shelf. More importantly, this isn’t about “right vs. wrong.” It’s about understanding what you value as a collector. Do you prioritize the movie above all else? Do labels like Criterion or Arrow matter to you? Or is your collection built around personal favorites and experience? This is a judgment-free conversation about collecting—and why “collect what you love” still matters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. Fixing a Terrible TV Box Set | Californication Custom Slipcase Upgrade
Fixing a Terrible TV Box Set | Californication Custom Slipcase Upgrade One of my favorite TV series finally has packaging worthy of the shelf. In this video I unbox a custom slipcase for Californication and rebuild the entire DVD set after the original box arrived with some of the worst disc packaging I've ever seen. For collectors, presentation matters. If a show means something to you, the packaging should reflect that. This upgrade transforms a messy stacked-disc set into something that actually feels like a proper box set. Along the way I show: The original DVD packaging problems The custom slipcase and artwork The replacement cases used to rebuild the set How the final collection display comes together Sometimes collecting isn’t about buying something new — it’s about making what you already own better. If you watched Californication, I’d love to hear your memories of the show. And as always… Collect what you love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. How I Built My Movie Collection for Cheap (March Pickup Strategy
How I Built My Movie Collection for Cheap (March Pickup Strategy This month wasn’t about buying more. It was about collecting smarter. From $1 thrift finds to long-awaited pickups, here’s how I approached building my collection without overspending. In this March haul, I walk through a different kind of collecting month—one focused on value, patience, and intention. From DVDs I normally would’ve skipped to discounted Blu-rays and 4Ks, this was all about finding the right version at the right time. I also share how I think about upgrading (or not), why I’m okay waiting on certain releases, and how collecting goes beyond just buying. It’s about building a collection I actually use and enjoy. If you’re into physical media, secondhand hunting, or just want a more intentional way to collect movies, this one’s for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. What I Watched in March (And What’s Actually Worth Your Time)
What I Watched in March (And What’s Actually Worth Your Time) I watched a wide mix of movies this month. From Pixar favorites to cult classics and new releases. Some stood out more than I expected. Here’s what I actually enjoyed, what didn’t fully land, and why certain movies still matter when you sit down and watch them. This isn’t about buying more movies—it’s about the experience of watching them. From Disney movie nights to unexpected finds, revisits, and theater experiences, this month reminded me why I love collecting and watching movies in the first place. Also, a digital code giveaway! How Should I Organize My Movie Collection? Alphabetical vs Franchise vs Label
How Should I Organize My Movie Collection? Alphabetical vs Franchise vs Label If you’re debating how to organize your movie collection, you’re not alone. In this video, I walk through how mine is currently set up, and why I’m questioning it. From steelbooks and 4Ks to Disney shelves, franchises, boutique labels, and alphabetical order… I’m starting to wonder if the way I organize my collection actually reflects how I watch movies. Do I keep everything A–Z for simplicity? Break things out by actor or director? Separate Criterion and Arrow? Or organize by franchise and mood? This isn’t a haul or a shelf tour — it’s a collector conversation. I’d genuinely love to know how you organize your collection and why. Let’s talk about it. Importing Sisu: Road to Revenge on 4K — The Standard Edition I Wanted
Importing Sisu: Road to Revenge on 4K — The Standard Edition I Wanted Sometimes the version of a movie you want simply doesn’t exist where you live. In this video, I unbox an imported 4K copy of Sisu: Road to Revenge because the standard edition wasn’t available in the U.S. I missed this film in theaters but loved the original Sisu, so when the only domestic option ended up being a Steelbook, I decided to go another route. Instead of collecting the flashy edition, I tracked down a standard 4K release through @orbitdvd. For me, Steelbooks are something I collect selectively. This time, I just wanted the movie — the simplest version possible — and sometimes that means importing a release from overseas. If you're into physical media collecting, you probably know the feeling: choosing the version that fits your collection philosophy, not just what's easiest to buy. What do you think of Sisu: Road to Revenge? Did you see it in theaters, and would you revisit it? And more importantly — do you prefer Steelbooks or standard cases? Don’t forget: collect what you love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. Was Trading In My Movies Worth It? Hunting a Blu-ray Grail on Store Credit
Was Trading In My Movies Worth It? Hunting a Blu-ray Grail on Store Credit I traded in part of my movie collection — and used the credit to chase a true Blu-ray grail. Was it worth consolidating my shelf to land an out-of-print Spike Lee two-pack at a huge discount? In this video, I walk through what I traded, what I picked up secondhand, and why sometimes upgrading your collection isn’t about buying more — it’s about buying smarter. From Disc Replay finds to a Half Price Books speed run, this wasn’t about a haul. It was about strategy, timing, and knowing when to pull the trigger on something you may not see again. Most of my collection is secondhand, and this experience reinforced why I’m such a big believer in used physical media. Would you have paid $70 for this grail? Let me know below. And as always — collect what you love. Why I Bought Bootleg Blu-rays of Netflix & Disney+ Movies
Why I Bought Bootleg Blu-rays of Netflix & Disney+ Movies Some of my favorite movies don’t officially exist on Blu-ray. So I made a decision. In this video, I unbox several bootleg discs of streaming-exclusive films and talk honestly about why I went this route — and what it says about ownership, subscriptions, and physical media in 2025. This isn’t about chasing rare items or flipping anything. It’s about access. If a movie never gets an official release, do collectors just accept that? Or do we find another way? I also walk through the packaging, disc artwork, menus, and special features, some of which go beyond what streaming platforms even provide. I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts: Are you pro bootleg? Against it? Somewhere in the middle? Collect what you love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. Great Movies That Lost Best Picture (But Shouldn’t Be Forgotten)
Great Movies That Lost Best Picture (But Shouldn’t Be Forgotten) Every year the Oscars celebrate a Best Picture winner. But some of the movies we remember the most… didn’t win at all. In this video, I look back at some of my favorite films that lost Best Picture — movies that stuck with me longer than the winners. From classics like Star Wars, The Shawshank Redemption, and Saving Private Ryan to modern films like Mad Max: Fury Road, The Social Network, and Dune Part Two, these are the movies I keep coming back to. Some of these films shaped how I think about movies. Some are endlessly rewatchable. Others simply left a bigger impression on me than the Oscar winner that year. This isn’t about saying the Academy was wrong — it’s about celebrating the films that continue to matter long after awards season ends. What movies do you think should have won Best Picture? Let me know in the comments. And remember: collect what you love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters.
