Go vote, Virginia

This is one of these things I can type out and shout till I'm blue in the face and it is indisputably true but also it is not covered anywhere so people do not believe it.
Good luck runners!
That's exactly what I am saying - that we need to support primary challengers.
The current members are the ones who put Schumer and Jeffries in place, and none of them are calling for new leadership in the body they are in (ie, some House have called to replace Schumer, but not Jeffries)
It's good that the House was able to get rid of the first two abusers, but they have to get rid of Mills, too.
The MAGA way. WaPo documents how Rep Cory Mills (R-FL) used overt political influence, including calls to Pam Bondi and Ed Martin, to avoid being arrested and prosecuted after he physically brutally assaulted a woman in Washington, DC. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...
Representative Moulton accepts money from the company that put out this statement.

Among the many should-immediately-end-this-presidency daily scandals is the fact that the current administration is dismantling research on the most incredible new scientific advance in the last several decades. Literally killing people.
I hope they improve their formula.
The idea of TrackAIPAC - pushing back against one of the most problematic PACs in American politics today - is a worthy one.
And they've already built up the name recognition and reach to make a large impact.
Though I don't have access to the data Nic does, the existence of methodology problems seemed apparent to me.
In fairness, I should add that asking for an endorsement doesn't guarantee that I would get one.
But I didn't ask.
Threads post from stocking_the_capitol: @trackaipac I just was sent an Excel doc where you are “tracking AIPAC” and I’m not going to lie I’m pretty upset. Your methodology is INCREDIBLY flawed to the point where I’m not sure if any of your graphics have accurate numbers. Specifically - y’all need to take a deep look at the way you are classifying individuals in the “pro Israel lobby”. Accuracy is so important here. Every time someone finds these flaws in your work, it discredits what you are fighting for.
Since I get asked about it often, this is why I haven't asked for a TrackAIPAC endorsement.
I don't accept money from AIPAC.
Campaign finance reform is 1 of my 3 core priorities.
I am not disparaging those who have sought TrackAIPAC's endorsement. But I have never sought it out.
Elected Dems know the base hates Schumer, and they know we're getting more upset with Jeffries every day.
They choose to ignore us.
We have to speak the only language they care about: elections.
Knocking off incumbents is memorable!
Cantor! Presley! AOC! A small number can carry a lot of weight!
But if all the incumbents win, and Dems gain seats, you've handed Schumer and Jeffries promotions, not pink slips.
It is very easy to see what the likely media narrative will be!
The best way to undermine it is by having Dem challengers overperform in primaries, and preferably win at least a few times.
It won't take many upsets to flip the narrative! But it will require some.
Schumer & Jeffries are probably locked in until after the midterms.
After the midterms, (assuming a blue wave 🤞), the most likely media narrative is:
"S & J strategies worked! Dems landslide!"
The *only* way to have a chance to replace them is to support Dem primary challengers.
Hey this is awesome, and really welcome news for a large population of Massachusetts residents
Re-upping this thread for the night crowd/since bluesky was glitching this morning.
It’s like when the 2017 Super Bowl ads were like “perhaps we should treat our fellow citizens with respect and dignity” and Republicans panned them for being anti-Trump.
The important thing is that there was zero self reflection.
Even a few signatures from your circle helps ensure that this campaign makes it onto the ballot – and that voters, not the system, decide what happens next.
If you’re able to help, we’ll make sure you have everything you need.
Just click here: forms.gle/dRG8cP67XNTd...
We’ve already collected thousands across the state, but we are not there yet – and the timeline to finish this is tight.
Right now, the most important thing you can do is help us collect signatures.
We are still in this race, and we’ve built this campaign with these requirements in mind, working from day one to earn our place on the ballot.
But the next hurdle is coming up fast, and it’s a big one.
We need to submit 10,000 signatures by May 5 in order to make the ballot.
If you don’t have a well-organized operation behind you, those requirements can end your campaign before voters ever get a chance to weigh in.
That’s what we saw Tuesday.
But it matters, because it reveals something important about how this system works.
In Massachusetts, getting on the ballot isn’t just about whether voters want you there.
On Tuesday, a campaign in this race was disqualified from the ballot after failing to meet a technical requirement.
It didn’t make headlines. This thread may even be how many of you are hearing about it – or that the campaign existed in the first place.

Every day I become increasingly afraid that we're going to give away this very winnable Senate seat.
Consider the example of Roy Moore, who the Alabama GOP knew had a problematic history, but advanced him to the general anyway.
Finally, after the primary, the worst info came out. The seat flipped.

Passing this legislation would mean extending Temporary Protected Status for Haitians in magenta. More than ever, we need you to urge Congress to vote YES on H.R. 1689 before the final vote TOMORROW. ‼️ TOMORROW is critical to protect TPS for Haitians. Please call Congress (Thu, April 16) and urge a YES vote ‼️
Thanks to Rep. Ayanna Pressley, the House advanced a discharge petition and H.R. 1689 vote on TPS for Haitians is happening TOMORROW.
We got the vote—now we need to bring it home.
This isn't being talked about enough:
President Trump is hosting a gala at Mar-a-Lago next week for the top 297 holders of his $TRUMP memecoin.
Not only is this blatantly corrupt, it's a national security threat.
[chock full o'nuts letterhead] May 13, 1958 The President The White House Washington, D.C. My dear Mr. President: I was sitting in the audience at the Summit Meeting of Negro Leaders yesterday when you said we must have patience. On hearing you say this, I felt like standing up and saying, “Oh no! Not again.” I respectfully remind you sir, that we have been the most patient of all people. When you said we must have self-respect, I wondered how we could have self-respect and remain patient considering the treatment accorded us through the years. 17 million Negroes cannot do as you suggest and wait for the hearts of men to change. We want to enjoy now the rights that we feel we are entitled to as Americans. This we cannot do unless we pursue aggressively goals which all other Americans achieved over 150 years ago. As the chief of executive of our nation, I respectfully suggest that you unwittingly crush the spirit of freedom in Negroes by constantly urging forbearance and give hope to those prosegregation leaders like Governor Faubus who would take from us even those freedoms we now enjoy. Your own experience with Governor Faubus is proof enough that forbearance and not eventual integration is the goal the pro-segregation leaders seek. In my view, an unequivocal statement backed up by action such as you demonstrated you could take last fall in dealing with Governor Faubus if it became necessary, would let it be known that America is determined to provide – in the near future – for Negroes – the freedoms we are entitled to under the constitution. Respectfully yours, Jackie Robinson

On this Jackie Robinson Day, do not forget that his civil rights activism did not end on the first day of his Major League Baseball career.

On this Tax Day, let’s remember that in 1950 Congress raised the top corporate tax rate to 45%. This last year, more than 88 corporations paid no federal taxes. The U.S. can provide people with healthcare and living wages and childcare. We just choose not to. #taxday #economicjustice #taxfairness
