Yes, and that is what I’m hoping to acquire soon. I don’t have them yet though.

Well, someone donated posters to my school. Now I’m supposed to hang it on the wall in my classroom.

We had to retire Clio’s shark bed when she died, but Liam is enjoying his demon cave.

I was worried that the dogs would be mean to Liam, and instead he keeps trying to harass the 50 lb dogs, just swiping at Kelby when she walks by and pawing Fry’s butt for no reason. He is a menace.

She had a very specific task, but took a 10 minute break to organize the unopened Pokémon cards that she found into her Pokemon card binder. Procrastination Station.

Spring Break is unfortunately time for Spring Cleaning, during which mom with ADHD tries to make kids with ADHD get rid of clothes and books and toys they have outgrown and clean their rooms. They have hundreds of socks stuffed into every conceivable crevice and hiding place.

That is probably closer to his actual personality.

We are trying to navigate introducing Liam the tuxedo cat to Kelby and Fry, and while they were used to having a cat around, they aren’t sure about this new guy.

So this is William Benedict Rutherford [LastName] the Third, aka: Liam. He is a 1 year old tuxedo cat that the kids immediately fell in love with.

Every time I see something black out of the corner of my eye, I think it’s her. We miss her so much. I have had her with me since 2009; it was too weird not having a cat in the house, so we went to Operation Kindness yesterday to see if we clicked with a cat we could hang out with over Spring Break.

My beautiful black cat Clio passed away in December; she would have been 17 in January. She was in stage 4 kidney failure for over a year, and the prescription cat food kept her with us, happy and relatively healthy for that year after her diagnosis.

Yeah, that seems fine.

I also had my annual OBGyn appointment today, and all 4 of these abscess/fistula procedures happened since my last appointment with her, so I filled her in, and she enjoyed a chance to tell me that my fistula is one of the easiest to treat, followed by a few horror stories about much worse types.

I went for 3 hours on Monday, and I was just angry for the last hour. Today I skipped because I bled so much on Tuesday and was in too much pain to sleep that night. I am giving myself permission to skip tomorrow too — nothing happens to me if I don’t go. I need to heal.

I had surgery last Wednesday, and I’m still in a lot of pain. The doctor has me on 7 different prescription medications. Before I knew I was going to need surgery — my 4th procedure for this damn issue since February 2024 — I signed up for 3 days of professional development for this week. 🙃

It was my son’s first time taking these tests, and he got “masters” in both math and reading - he “mastered” rather than just “met” grade level expectations. I was worried that his type of ADHD might make standardized testing more difficult.

Anyway, I got them both giant milkshakes about it.

We got the results today for my own kids’ state testing; they both did well, which leaves me torn because… do we celebrate effort and success and growth? But also, as a teacher, I know these tests are not actually a good measure of learning, and I don’t want them to tie their worth to test scores.

I repurposed my protest sign as a yard sign. The turnout in my smallish Texas suburb was pretty good — 500+ people — and I’m really glad I went. It made me more hopeful. There were a lot of supportive honks from passersby in cars and no counter-protesters.

I’ve seen estimates closer to 12 million worldwide, but I don’t know how they calculated that

I haven’t played Sims 4 much (I prefer Sims 3), and never with that expansion pack, so I was just guessing, but it does seem like something witches would do in a Sims game.

Kat is playing Sims 4 on my computer (with a bunch of expansions installed), and I heard -
Kat: They’re all nude! Why are they nude?
Me: In Sims? (Yes.) Is it blurred out? (Yes.) Are they witches? (Yes.) Is it nighttime? (Yeah.) Oh, they’re just dancing in the moonlight. That’s what witches do.

I once stood in line behind Dirk Nowitzki at a movie theater while buying popcorn. Definitely the tallest human I’ve ever seen IRL.

Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

So, now we can both go - yay! I’m not worried about police in the town where we live, just possibly some counter-protesters. I might go to one in downtown Dallas, and that one might be more risky even though it’s early in the day.

I called my grandma to ask if she can watch the kids on Saturday while I go to the No Kings protests; she said, “I’m happy to watch the kids, but I’m scared for you to go to the protests; I don’t want you to go!” I said, “I’m going either way, but if you watch the kids, then G can come with me.”
