Thankfully, this Veiled Chameleon moved very slowly which allowed this neophyte photograper to keep it in focus.

I often go to the Toronto Zoo to practice and get to know my gear. As zoos go, it is more about species conservation than a showcase of animals, and does provide opportunties for those with a long lens. This Lemur shot was taken in 2014, not long after I picked up photography again.

Several years ago, I came across this painting by Stanislav Plutenko - Christ in the Desert, which showed Christ sitting in what appears to be be a dump, but on closer inspecting is the remains of capitalism. It was poignant when I first saw this, but even more so as I read the news feeds today.

As a nature photographer I am used to being distracted by small movements in the bushes. This Great Grey Owl is not distracted, but focused on those movements. Unlike the Owl, I am not planning on eating whatever it is that is making that movement.
