The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

Two chickadees sit on a branch, one says: "Whoa! Look!" indicating a light in the sky over the horizon. The other one says: "Pretty!" The first one says "Do you think that's Venus or just a bright star?". The second one looks nervous, stumbling "Oh... uh... yeah it's probably Bemus"
Venus
A tree sparrow is speaking: "Artistic creation shouldn't be considered carelessly! Good art is made deliberately! With emotion! Physical exertion! If you aren't crying or bleeding by the end, you'd better look into another lifestyle...". We see a class of birds with piles of sticks and a big banner that reads "Intro to nest building" made out of twigs. The teacher continues: "Ok! Does everyone have their bundle of soft moss?"

A crow is standing next to a melting snowbank and says "I love when the snow starts to melt and all the treasures appear". It hops along and says "Let me show you my collection". We see an assortment of objects at its feet. "54 aromatics nubs, a fine preener, assorted flavour discs, beak lovelies, flim-flams, shiny poke-stick, and best of–wait..." We see a close of of the crow looking over its shoulder "where's my jiggly squibbler?"

A crow whistles to itself on a bright winter day. It's scratching at the snow with its foot. It sees something blue and plastic sticking out of the snow and says "Hello what's this". It reaches to pick it up with its beak and yanks it out with a "shing!"
The thing is revealed to be a blue bic pen. The crow holds it triumphantly above its head. There is a magic light emanating from the pen which is creating a blue crosshatching effect on the sky.
The crow holds the glorious pen and the words "I AM ARTIST" frame the image.
The Artful Corvid #oldknees
Pencil drawing of two crows in a tree with heavy snow fall. One crow is pulling a PRIVATE PROPERTY sign off of the tree. The crows are now on the snowy ground. One says "Hold on tight!" the other replies "To what?" looking down at the sign it is standing on. The first crow pushed the second and it slides down a hill screaming AAAAAHHHH. Perspective from between the legs of the crow going down the hill. Snow streams by as it continues to scream AAAAAAHHHHHHHH. The first crow watches from the top of the hill as the second screams "I'll never forgive youuuuuuu". The second crow's scream continues "uuuuu–oh I've stopped. That was thrilling!" It is covered in snow, face is plastered with the stuff. In the distance at the top of the hill, the first crow is crying "my turn! my turn!"
Hold On Tight
10:30pm Lady and Caxi are asleep next to each other on the window-suction-cup-bed
Thanks for reading!
6:30pm Lady asks for food by raising one paw. Sometimes from the other side of the room. Our theory is that she expects us to take sympathy with her "cold/hurt" paw. When Caxi is hungry she puts holes in our pants. "Ow!" I say
7:30pm Thinking about all the times... I could have seen a snowy owl... If I had only looked up... there are snowy owls everywhere.
8:30pm Practised tying knots while listening to "My dad wrote a porno" for the third time. "Uh..." I say, confused at the poor knot diagram "what". But in drawing this picture, I figured it out.
9:30pm Mélodie and I work out just before bed. We are looking rough and tired
2:30pm "It's a beautiful sunny day. But quite cold." My phone shows -14 feels like -18. "I don't mind the excuse to stay in."
3:30pm Mélodie returns. I ask "Why do I smell fries?" she says "I brought surprise poutine!" Plover is red-cheeked from the cold. I reply "Oh!" with hearts in my eyes
4:30pm Trying to put Plover down while singing 2000s indie rock "you are a waterfall waiting inside a well" I sing, as she goes AAHHH. I look down at her and say "Hm?" She looks at me with love in her eyes and then gently bites my chin and I laugh. She did not sleep.
5:30pm dinner time for Plover. Food -> Baby. She is putting food everywhere. And then it is bed time for angel baby. She has a little halo
Hourly Comics Day 2026 2/2
12:30pm Mélodie makes us lunch. It's beans and two eggs on toast. She feeds Plover in the sling. Plover goes MMMMMM
1:30pm Mélodie and Plover go outside to visit a wool shop. M is getting winter ready and has Plover strapped to her in a carrier. Plover goes YAAYAYAYA. I stay in to document my life. I say "hold on to your butts!" for the exciting comics to come...
More to come at some point!
8:30am I feed Plover breakfast. She does this shimmying side to side dance when she's happy. Mostly when she's eating. Pictured is Plover doing her happy dance while eating and going MMMMMMM
9:30am I am lying with Plover, making a voice for a bunny toy. "Why are you green, little bunny? {ohh i fell into a vat of radioactive acid. it's also why i don't have any bones!}"
10:30am while Plover naps, Mélodie makes me coffee and toast and tells me about her latest researching deepdive: dinnerware. She is looking very serious with her hands together and says "Ok, so essentially there are two kinds of plates..."
11:30am I start the strange yet socially-accepted practice of drawing one's own life. Here I am drawing. Lady (my cat) asks for a lap. She paws at my leg. Close up of her eyes. She has old eyes now.
Hourly Comics Day 2026 Part 1 of 2
Sometime the day before My two cats are communing with my baby. The white cat (Lady) says "Ok, this one is for waking them up first. Rock, paper, scissors–". In the second frame we see them each put a paw in and the baby has made scissors. Lady says "Ah, you win again".
12:30am I am softly humming Chopin to my baby. She is wide awake "eeeeeee", acquiring consciousness
7:30am I look after Plover (not her real name) most mornings so Mélodie can get more sleep. The baby is pictured saying "ee-ayagoo ayyyyyyyy" on the bed. We have our little rituals. I stand with her in front of the window saying "good morning, spruce!" Recently I've rediscovered my love for my mocha pot. It's a quiet way to make coffee, one-handed.

An ad that shows two new art prints of my comics. One close up of the snowy owl, and one of the two crows flying through the snow storm from my previously posted comic.

Two crows march through a snowy field. They see a pile of snow on top of a fence post. "Heh, that lump of snow looks like..." starts one... Close up of the lump of snow that is revealed to be a living snowy owl. "Gasp" exhales one crow. "...a spirit!" exclaims the second.

True! I could make a print like that
That’s so cool! Thanks for letting me know 😊
Two crows are flying through a snowstorm. "I can hardly see a thing!" yells one, "We can't keep going like this!" The other one replies "Let's take a break!" They land in a snow-covered field, the snow is falling gently. "Oh!" exclaims one while looking around at the peaceful scene, "It's so beautiful when you aren't fighting against it."
Snowed In #oldknees
Really? Which ones?
A downy woodpecker sits on a spruce on a sunny winter day. "Ahh... Febuary" it says. Close up on it correcting "Febrary" then "Febberary..." then finally "Frebrury"

A Black-capped Chickadee showcasing winter fashion by donning a snowflake accessory.
A bird is singing on a crabapple tree in winter. In the second panel we see the bird is an evening grosbeak who says "What a gorgeous day!". The following panel he says "Why can't every day be like this" And in the final panel looks very upset.
Grumpbeak
I was just playing on ‘finished is better than perfect’. I know it doesn’t make sense, but often these expressions don’t make sense in practice. On one day, this saying might help me, and on the next it’s the opposite that I need to hear.
