It’s fairly straightforward - if you were to use “me” or “I” in the same sentence without the other person then that’s what you should use when including the other person. Just carry it through.

IIRC it’s subject vs object of the sentence determines which to use

I hate myself for being that guy but it drives me nuts when people say “person and I” when they should say “person and me.”

I appreciate people trying by putting the other person first, but that alone doesn’t make it correct.
