Continued south this afternoon, now back in Yorkshire at the unimaginatively named North Yorkshire Moors Club site. It’s close to Robin Hood’s Bay. nice walk to Falling Foss’s 30ft waterfall. It looks higher. Patrick’s getting excited, there are some hares running around in the field near us.

Spent last night near Alnwick, small site on a farm. approach road was through an industrial estate. Terri my ex-wife and I had a lovely visit to Alnwick many years ago. Don’t recall it the industrial estate! surprisingly pretty walk from the camp site down a steep wooded gorge, lots wild garlic.
Lovely evening at Onich, Loch Linnhe.
Sgurr Na Moraich
Headed further south to Morvich yesterday. Weather has deteriorated, hale, sleet, wind. Our plans to scale several Munros definitely on hold.
We spent a couple of nights in a “Shepherds Hut” on Skye before heading to Kinlochewe up the A896. Steep track at huts entry caused problems with the rear end of the Motorhome. Visited the Talisker distillery.
Now in Kinlochewe. We did a 5mile uphill path along a deep valley as far as a stream crossing towards Beinn Eighe. Not possible for Patrick to climb down so had to turn back. Got back just in time to miss rain and wind. Which hasn’t stopped since.
I’ve made it to Kinlochewe via Luss, Onich and Skye. Heading south shortly to find somewhere without hurricane force winds and lashing rain.
Day 1: Askew Rigg Farm, CA11 0SZ.
Heading up the west coast of Scotland for 2 weeks. Made it to the Lake District this evening. There’s a great view of the hills across the valley from our parking spot. It’s very windy tonight buffeting the van. There’s a little caravan on the next pitch with 4 people in it! Must be extremely cosy.
We’ve just celebrated Patrick’s 2nd birthday, attacking and demolishing a mole hill on the front lawn. Lapwings and curlews have started to return.
Patrick doing his best to impress Ice, his retired sheepdog friend, with his preference for branches over mere sticks.
Ford on the Helmsley rd back to Bransdale at the highest I’ve seen it after weeks of rain.
Lots of branches down after Amy. Patrick managed to retrieve this 6 footer.
Patrick drying his paws after a walk in yesterday’s torrential downpour. Play date today with Ice our smelly sheepdog friend.
Ouch!
My little helper
Patrick has made some adjustments to his favourite chair.
Long walk with Patrick today, down the track past Catherine and Elm houses in Bransdale. The path cuts back down over Hodge Beck. Patrick launched himself into the pool. I’m pretty sure it’s his first swim. I was too slow to catch on video unfortunately. Walked back through the eastern wood trail.
Patrick scoffing peanut butter from a kong.
Patrik helpfully collecting plant pots today. And, tiny bit too big to squeeze out under the garden gate.
Nettles and wild garlic from the garden combined to make a tasty soup.
Looking suitably guilty.
Before and After. Patrick in the dog house and on the top tier of the naughty step. Took me the first half of Villa Newcastle to clean up using my mower.
Jean, on the left, is wearing a MIU MIU silk polo top. It costs £1,750 but doesn’t even have long sleeves!
A flock of Patrick’s friends in the 4acre field beside our front garden. Play date with Ice, a neighboring farmer’s sheepdog, retired after a fall on the moors.
Happy first birthday Patrick!
Patrick is doing really well. Taking lots more naps during the day. He's discovered the spring doorstop which he likes to twang, very funny. Still hasn't made it up the stairs. some friends visited last week with dogs. Pat had a wonderful time chasing them around the garden.
