DESCRIPTION Ace: a small, handheld mobile phone with built-in camera, Bluetooth headset and full PDA functionality, with a display consisting of three separate square LCD screens pivoting out of the body. Halo: a combined Bluetooth camera and micro projection system housed in an injection-moulded torc-shaped housing to be worn around the neck. The Psion Halo and Ace were a related pair of conceptual product proposals generated as part of the 'Psion Futures' project carried out by Therefore Product Design Consultants for Psion in 1999. The aim of the project was purely to generate publicity for Psion, which it did in spectacular fashion. Despite being only a series of block models supported by a promotional video, the Psion Ace and Halo designs were so realistic and convincing that they picked up a major award for product innovation from the consumer electronics industry.
