Boiled is not an option. That’s the no-heartburn option.
Comic. I’m at my desk, leaning over to the doorway, saying “Hey! Foghorn! Foghorn Leghorn! Get in here!” Foghorn Leghorn is walking past the doorway, “Boy, I tell ya, I tell ya, not so loud, boy. What, I say, I say, what d’ya want?” Next panel, I’m gesturing to my computer. “How do I find that really good manga you recommended? It’s an anime now? I keep getting Halloween costumes.” Foghorn leans over my chair, “well, boy, I say, I say, you ain’t typin the entire title.” Last panel, I turn around- “you said ‘witch hat.’ Foghorn gets in my face- “open your ears, boy!! ‘Witch Hat Atelier, I tell ya! I tell ya ‘Atelier,’ I tell ya’”

ChatGPT: you’re right you’re so much smarter than him. He’s so schlubby and you’re so suave. Columbo will never catch you.

AI star symbol.
It's funny (not funny) how this ubiquitous symbol screams 'beware, incoming trash!' I have an instant reaction of revulsion whenever it pops up.
Did you know: There's HD video of Here Comes The Pizza?
I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but a reminder that Trent Reznor spelled backwards is Ron Zertnert
A guy asking ChatGPT to review a series of fart sound effects and getting a serious kiss ass response that calls it atmospheric
I can't stop laughing at this post. It's perfect.
We listen to ours ramble about whatever they love all the time. In hopes that they still talk to us like that once they become interesting/adults.
here's GI's Strixhaven preview, and it took all my willpower to not just make this a bunch of Van Halen jokes!
Every Castlevania game is about going into a room and there’s just some asshole.

A view I’ve long dreamed of. From Ryūganbuchi in Shizuoka Prefecture, gazing at Mount Fuji 🗻🌸 The cherry blossoms in full bloom and the majestic mountain together created a truly breathtaking scene.

It’s part of why it’s one of the greatest games ever made. It can be whatever you want it to be when engaging with it. It can be as shallow or as deep as you’d like it to be.
But not the one that wants to kill the boy!
New — I wrote about how journalists proudly using AI to help them write their stories obscures the deeply human process that makes journalism a societal necessity, and one that feeds the soul of those who create it.
Hope you’ll give it a read. I promise I wrote the whole thing.
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

A blimp with Charles Barkley looking like a missile and holding a basketball
I did not expect to be jump scared by a Charles Barkley blimp during my commute. 😂
Met my wife via fandom stuff in the very early 00’s so looking forward to the reminiscencing.
The Torts era was maybe the best era of CBJ. It was certainly interesting.
We’re going to discuss optimal strategy with someone who put telepathy in their deck? (Which is fine!)
I think the entire discussion is misguided.
Soulcalibur for the Sega Dreamcast is still just as good as it was in 1999.

Goldman Sachs reports that 300 million full-time jobs could be replaced by AI by 2030. Labor turnover is high and hiring has slowed. 71% of Americans worry that AI will cause permanent job loss. As young people about to enter the workforce for the first time, the fear of unemployment is understandable, but we cannot save ourselves with the very tool that is putting us at risk. The irony is that as Penn pours endless money and energy into AI advancement in its attempt to get ahead, the University is only quickening its own demise. AI cannot coexist with education — it can only degrade it. As technology advances and workers are replaced by machines, schools are some of the only places we have left to explore and wrestle with human thought. With our own university leading the charge, AI is now corrupting those few sacred spaces and leaving us with nowhere to engage in true scholarship. Editorials represent the majority view of members of The Daily Pennsylvanian Editorial Board who meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to the Penn community. This body is led by Editorial Board Chair Jack Lakis and is entirely separate from the newsroom. Questions or comments should be directed to letters@thedp.com.
An unaccounted for part of the economy is how much young people virulently hate AI, despite how aggressively it's being forced on them. They realize it's making their friends dumber and ruining the world and they want nothing to do with it.
