Thanks, this design is making me want to pick Starpoint Gemini Warlords back up... not sure why it's that instead of Starcraft but my brain is being weird today xD

This seems like it would be ̷̶̷d̷̶̷a̷̶̷n̷̶̷g̷̶̷e̷̶̷r̷̶̷o̷̶̷u̷̶̷s̷̶̷... I mean hot.
...or people who had shitty relationships with their kids and the game reflects their guilt as well as the lessons they learned through those failures.
I░n't it ▓ bit l▒te for th▒t?
We didn't question it. Maybe we should have 😎 #cloudheim #funny #game #indiegame #gamer
Either something shady, or legalese stupidity. Timed licensing that doesn't get renewed correctly can be a result of stupid just as easily as it's the result of deliberate screwing around.
Still available on Epic for me. store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/star... Given the way Valve has been acting for most of the past decade, it's nice to see things going wrong for them. I'd actively advocate for buying almost anywhere else over supporting that trash heap.
To be fair, if you're comparing the concept to that website, it does look anticapitalist by comparison... -_-
"INCREASE THE MEMES" meme, Monsoon from Metal Gear Rising
Seems perfectly normal to me...
And here's the reason both of those are "factoids" (easily-believed misinformation) instead of "facts":
A "font" is the software, the expression of it is the "typeface" and that's what can't be copyrighted. Images or videos using the typeface don't breach copyright, but an app using the font does.
I find this somehow funnier because Torn was written by someone else and performed by like 3 other bands before Natalie Imbruglia picked it up.
I highly recommend that everyone follow artists. If you do, your feed is filled with art every day. Real, original art. It's bonkers that you can even have this. Amazing. Undeniably cool.
And then support those artists, when you can, because that helps the delight continue.
Not to say an extraction negotiation game doesn't sound fun. I just can't think of a way to make that combination of ideas make sense.
Extraction not-shooter sounds like a fun game.
@playwildgate.com is... borderline-ish in some ways but still errs on the side of "still a shooter" and has a decent PvE experience.
Extraction hack'n'slash when? Or extraction pure stealth game? Extraction negotiation game? ...that might be too far.
Stumbled on an example of this the other day when changing a game's keybinds, and the paused screenshot didn't update to show the button prompt until I closed the menu... good times.
Still waiting on confirmation that 2.0's control remapping (which should have been in 1.0) is going to be added to the demo as well... seems like the right time to be confirming whether the demo's getting appropriately updated to reflect the changes to the game, and this is basic functionality.
The closest I've seen to this was someone saying "Only one, and you already used it. Better luck next time."
That's a good point. It's a nice wish to be in a place where you can do that, though.
Also a nice wish to see the game show up in more places than just Steam, from my perspective.
It's very tempting to point to the "pay what you want" option on @itch.io - if someone wants to throw money at you, they can... or it's free.
small crab eating a grape (important)
And the Japanese example in question is the same logic used by Japanese artists as a reason to do the exact same thing, so it's not even disregard for the culture, it's a continuation of a culture among the people you're inspired by...
Still best to avoid if you're going for accuracy, of course.
It's also why a lot of "viking" imagery has horned helmets, why a lot of stories dress knights in plate armour in spite of being set hundreds or sometimes over 1000 years before plate armour was invented, and various other problems.
Steam is the "big" storefront. Epic, GOG and itchio are all good options to add alongside that, though. Of the 3, itch is harder to use, and Epic is easier, while GOG has some big issues with support (both dev and customer side) but dedicated users.
You previously mentioned that 2.0 comes with full control remapping. Will the demo be getting an update to reflect this too? Still hopeful for this game, but the lack of this (should have been in 1.0) feature locked me out of even trying it fully.
Another problem is when you're having to say "OH THAT, AI, WAS JUST MEANT TO BE A PLACEHOLDER" instead, because your AI is being fed stolen content that still has (unused) placeholder assets in the files, and decides to "helpfully" find use for those (intentionally-removed) assets.
Looks fun. Hope it finds its way into more places than just Steam, though.
I think it's also fair, when you're a solo dev or a small team, to just say "can't" - as long as you're supportive of fans making their own translations.
Which from what I know, is the case here. I get why people want more, but also why it's not really a fair thing to ask.
"If 10 people using 1 AI can do the work of 12 people, fire half the people and add 5 new AI tools into the workflow! That'll be like having 17 people, right?"
Not how this works, of course, but it really feels like some senior management types think it does.
A lot of people who don't know what generative AI does, seem to think it boosts productivity by "doing jobs" like a person does.
Give a team of 10 people an AI tool, productivity goes up by 20% so... that's like hiring 2 more people, but costs less than 1?
But the bubble pops when you fire talent.
I would probably consider all of them to be great if they were $30 or less on launch and got discounted over time like competently-marketed games on less incompetent storefronts do.
