You want your audience to love a woman? Make sure she sacrifices her interests and the interests of women in general. Make sure she hobbles herself and collapses emotionally so that women are affirmed as essentially damaged. That's the reason for Kate Whyler.

THE PASS AND THE HISTORY OF NOW.

He doesn't mean what he's saying. You don't understand him. He comes from a different time.

He means exactly what he's saying. I understand him perfectly. He controls my world. He has always controlled my world. And yours.

Everyone is already steeped in the Fascist playbook. Step by step and value by value. It's every religion's view of women applied to everyone else.

What would it sound like if a woman didn’t give a shit about what anyone thought of her and just went about the business of not trying to impress or win anyone to her side?

The other night, I was awakened in the middle of sleep. A hot rash had bloomed on my arms and was snaking around other parts of my body. I turned on the light in the bathroom. It was a moment from The Exorcist. lauriestone.substack.com/p/a-moment-of-not-death

There is no man on the planet who hates women I will ever give two fucks about. I won't kill you, but you can go die.

where you have always lived. There is time to note the rate it takes blood to flow from the site of entry to the floor and to observe how quickly it pools. The speed with which blood is only too happy to leave your body gets you up searching for a belt.

What happens when you watch a lot of streaming shows about spies and snipers.

The bullet hit my thigh midway between the hip and knee. There was time to be glad it hadn’t hit a vital organ. When you are shot, time opens up like a corridor in those dreams about discovering extra rooms in the house

the life I am going to live is beginning. I can feel it. I can see myself shooting the movie with a hand held camera. Last Tuesday, with Richard, there’s a jazz band playing near us, and they’re good. The trumpeter sounds a bit like Miles.

You could see they were having sex with each other and plunging into fits of jealousy. You could see why we wait until almost there is no air.
I remembered lying in the grass here with Bruce. I’m seventeen, and we’d started having sex, and the park is sex, and my life is about to begin,

One day in Washington Square Park, I came upon a troupe of acrobats performing on the paths. They were ragged and very beautiful in their juggling and feats of balance. They were indifferent to onlookers, who watched them with awe, the crowds expanding.

It’s snowing, and my mistakes are beautiful, no two alike. When I was a kid they called it snow, the nothing on TV that vibrated. I was talking with a friend who is 53, and I realized that when I was 53 I would not have allowed myself to imagine the mind of a person who was 78.
