I find it hilarious that Glenn Beck, an American, complains that Canada is "not a democracy" because - in his opinion - the legislature has been sidelined, "allowing the executive branch to reign unchecked." What have his own executive and legislative branches been up to lately?

Got a NHL Unites email today that highlights how the league supports six adaptive hockey disciplines - veterans, blind, Deaf/hard of hearing, sled, Special, and standing/amputee - with equipment, ice time, and programming.

Facebook showed me a clip from The Crown of the Queen being briefed during the Suez Crisis. "So it's all been for nothing," she says. "Rather worse than nothing," is the response.

A war in the Middle East in 1956 sounds a lot like 70 years later.

The debate on the military flu vaccine mandate is totally dominated by anti-vaxxers, who seem to have no idea that illness - even if it's "mild," even if it's not fatal - has a major impact on effectiveness. Sick sailors/soldiers/aircrew cannot be "warfighters."

Nothing like the US administration lifting a mandatory vaccine requirement to bring out "the flu only affects old, sick and disabled people" arguments on social media. So, if true, why is it OK to allow young, abled people to infect those who who are vulnerable?

Queen's University Football held its annual Gold Game, and it's probably the only university in Canada to pose football players for photos with a piper in full Highland regalia, including Royal Stewart kilt and plaid.

Americans can abandon any delusion that the rest of the world will just suddenly start trusting you again if you have a change in government. Your worldwide reputation has been damaged, if not obliterated, for generations.

Busy implementing my new policy of blocking anyone who uses the r-slur on social media. This is already reaping benefits.

The plainclothes agent assigned to follow our delegation discretely around Suzhou was easy to spot because of his conspicuous Playboy Bunny belt buckle, which makes me wonder about the training these guys receive. I'm sure the Public Security Bureau has better trained, highly professional agents.

'A former Duke University philosophy lecturer, (Jonathan Anomaly) wrote in a 2018 paper, titled “Defending Eugenics,” that he was concerned about successful, well-educated women “substituting cats for kids,” which would result in “bad effects on the gene pool” over time.'

I was just thinking that the Board of Peace, touted as a replacement for the United Nations, hasn't been much of a factor in the Iran war.

I am so pleased to find attention given to an accessibility audit and its results - this can seem mundane (toilet height! Braille signage! door levers and push button openers!) but it makes a huge difference to disabled people needing to get in, around and out of a facility.

Disney Shows Integrating ASL Into Narrative Possible With Songs in Sign Language Could a Deaf Disney Princess be far behind?

Disney's SONGS IN SIGN LANGUAGE series beautifully proves there's an ability to integrate ASL and, by extension, disability into their animated features. I spent the day at Disney and asked if the hope was to do more over at The Film Maven.

Various Canadian social media accounts are following Jonathan Kay's lead in questioning and ridiculing Irritable Bowel Syndrome awareness efforts. I'm sure that this ableism will return for World Lupus Day on May 10.

Love it when Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy posts a snarky "why is the Canadian national anthem being played in the Buffalo Sabres' arena" and he gets schooled by Western New Yorkers about how important Canadian season ticket holders and fans are to the Sabres and Bills.

Christian writer and Trump lickspittle Eric Metaxas says that the Pope must stop "saying idiotic and incendiary things." He sounds a lot like pagan Romans going on about Christians "saying idiotic and incendiary things" regarding a Jewish teacher executed by the state who is claimed to have risen.
