Totally agree that stage 2 is the stage and stage 1 is not so exciting. Given the history of nodding to various significant cycling protagonists when routing Tour stages, I was quite surprised to see it head off south rather than coming through Otley to start with.

Orla Chennaoui's post to Facebook. SBS Sport should be demanding more of A.S.O. with respect to coverage of women's races. #CouchPeloton

I was debating which twin for ages when I picked my team. For most of the race I was really happy I’d made the right decision! 🙃

Meanwhile the women’s race is ongoing and we’re watching people wander round the velodrome grass 🤬 #parisroubaix

I was thinking this. Or an open letter we all sign - can someone French say if petitions are a thing in France?

The question is what can we as fans do about it? How can we make a difference?

Enjoy it!!

Whoop congratulations! Did you enjoy it? It’s my favourite sportive of all time and the only good reason* I can think of having the women’s race on Sunday, so the cut off times get friendlier again for the long route. I haven’t done it for years and I miss it!!

*not really a good reason at all…

I was a member for a while. I would love to join them on one of their work days sometime!

If you don’t know of them, then look up Les Amis de Paris-Roubaix. They maintain those cobbles on a voluntary basis. Also, one more phonetic explanation in the absence of the accent on ´pave’ might be worth it. But love this and the effort you’ve made for them - I hope they appreciate it!

I think (hope) it was just that way for the demo event and would get better when included for real. I thought it was like cyclocross on skis but a friend likened it to dog agility, which I now can’t unsee 😂

Nice to ‘see’ a familiar face from cyclingbluesky :-)

A large queue for buses that aren’t there.

A large queue for buses that aren’t there.

This sounds like they’d sorted out Antholz! Hope you weren’t there ages and ages too early and cursing me.
I just found the photo I took while we were queuing on Sunday. This was before they sent us all round the station…

A dish of South Tyrolean favourites all in one place. A big curly sausage (not a euphemism) sits atop cabbage salad goulash and roast potatoes, with a bread dumpling nestled in the centre. Delicious!

Nom! I hadn’t really clocked how not-Italian that area is until we got there. Enjoyed a medley of everything south Tyrollean on our last night!

It’ll probably be fine and you’ll wonder what the hell I was on about! 🤞🏻

Would be interesting to know if they’ve got a better system sorted by the time you go! To be fair the chaos yesterday helped us today - we’ve learned if you’re heading to a shuttle bus, get your best fast feet on!

Congratulations on the new house! Having experienced the Biathlon shuttle service, leave yourself about 3 hours to get to the stadium from the parking/station. Hopefully they’ve learned from the chaos yesterday… but if not, you’ll need it!

I don’t know about everywhere but the introduction in the page basically says it’s the feed if you don’t live in India. It works in the UK - listening to Ned right now…
