Not seen that Philly Classics set before. Nice find!

The half speed cut Spirit of Eden is currently down to around £22 on rarewaves UK. If you've got some reward vouchers with them it could be a really silly price.
You weren't supposed to break off that bit of the tap!
Noisy record cleaner appears to be fixed. Whilst I was undoing screws it occurred to me that maybe one of them had needed tightening up instead. So far: result! Better result than the tap today that appeared to have been fixable but uninformed fiddling made it a replacement job.

Perhaps best known by Odyssey this is the original version by the writer: Lamont Dozier. Essentially the LP version, but faded early: not a remix.

New stylus installed today, new alignment protractor printed, correct placement attempted, first official full tune played - a whole track may have been checked a few weeks back for a cursory stylus check. Slightly different spec to previous model, for most part appears to suit arm better.
Even the sockets look slightly horrified.
Made sense to move on to Cozy Cole.
I was just wondering how on earth they managed to cut 6:46 to disc in 1937 (very little noise too, and this was compiled in the early 70s) and then I heard a possible edit so perhaps so sides of the same record edited together, but still why so little surface noise?
I'll even post a picture eight hours or so later.
That Jags sleeve rings a bell but I don't know the track. Or I don't know I know it...
I have a copy of this with a larger than jukebox size hole. I have not found an explanation why.
This may not have done much for me even a few years ago but playing most of side 1 last night made me smile. Cozy Cole, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald were key names of attraction for me getting it. Possibly nothing later than 1940 so probably all from 78s?
By that I mean it qualifies for #WeekendSingles.
Surprisingly nice 12" mix which qualifies a #WeekendSingle. Extended intro, perhaps a slightly longer fade and then something that sounds like a glass harmonica tucked on after the main song fade.
Kinda vaudeville, a bare bones mix of the bit that comes after the bridge.
I like chaotic in a good way.
Extended Remix on a-side and just The Flirting Kind on the b-side.
This is one of the RSD releases I'm interested in. Not interested in queuing for it, mind you! Price didn't seem entirely ridiculous either although the post event market may deem it otherwise!
Bonus round of #WeekendSingles. Playing both sides starting top left then clockwise.
Still Water and It's All In The Game amongst the highlights for me.
Ooh hoo. Very nice.
I feel like it must be soon!
Good morning! A later start to #WeekendSingles today includes an Isley Brothers 45 with swagger in the groove, and a nice cover of an Al Green song.
Fancy plunger!
Kershaw!
Is One Way Ticket the b-side of Oh! Carol? I know it's on one of his early classics.
