The Husbands skit on SNL a few weeks ago was one of my favorite skits of the '20s, right up there with Beavis and Butthead. Really well-written and performed by the whole cast, but especially the guys.

That’s fascinating. I work in Ed-tech, and elementary education has known for a long time that reading to kids greatly helps develop the neural pathways to become readers.
For sure. I make no claims that it's a good business idea, just trying to give a back-of-the-napkin level of effort/cost, without resorting to paying to re-edit the book and having Wheaton re-record it from scratch.
Fans of African music, I highly recommend you check out Gambian multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer Sona Jobarteh and her 2022 release Badinyaa Kumoo. The best I've heard in a decade.
An editor could easily trim some extra "he said"'s out of Wheaton's existing performance and maintain the cohesion of Wheaton's delivery. It would likely take 1-2 days, plus some administrative time. I don't know if the audiobook distribution infrastructure allows for revisions of an existing title.
I'm just so infatuated with the Artemis II crew. They truly modeled the best of humanity on this mission.
Two mic boom operators holding mics above various desks at Mission Control in Houston for the Artemis Mission.
The real heroes of the Artemis 2 mission!
I know. Arlines could have charged money just to fly in a circle around Cape Canaveral.

Earthset from Orion!
Josh Johnson gives the funniest description of a cassette I've ever heard. www.youtube.com/shorts/PgkBd...
Trump is paying a foreign company $1B not to produce clean energy. I think this might be the most insane public policy I’ve ever seen.

Have you lived in a warm climate in the US? Literally ever single building already has AC, in dense urban areas. Newer heat-pumps are typically quieter. And I'm just talking about the exterior units. The interior ductless designs are often under 10 dBSPL. Most modern high-rises feature heat pumps.
Movie poster of the film Project Hail Mary. Features a picture of fictional character Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) floating in a space ship.
Andy Weir is the "hard sci fi" spiritual successor to Arthur C. Clarke, and the movie adaptation of Project Hail Mary is my favorite science fiction film since Arrival.
I haven't written code professionally since the 00s, but it seems to me the strength of LLMs would be in helping to get quickly up to speed within existing code bases.
Has anyone used RX Dialog Denoise or DX Revive on a Glenn Gould CD to take out the piano and just leave his humming?
Nice to hear another Andrew Stanton/Thomas Newman collaboration again with In the Blink of an Eye. I would love for Newman to finally get his Oscar!
I've seen some pretty funny "You're right to push back on this" jokes about Anthropic's stand against the DoD. Well done, Internet.
I discovered the band Heilung the other day. It's a kind of experimental ritual folk. It really speaks to the pre-Christianity European parts of my ancestry. www.youtube.com/watch?v=64CA...
Have you heard this project of his in the late '90s. So good!

If you have criticized ICE here on Reddit for executing Renee Good or Alex Pretti in the street, then Reddit has handed your name and your personal identifying information over to the Trump administration. How do you feel about this? bolatelli45 • Great add mine. My name is Daryl. Bawkalor • And I'm his brother Daryl. PoeGar • And his other brother Daryl lamScottGable• And I'm Scott Gable! Wait, what are we doing? thesearstower • Get in, loser - we're doing Newhart. Lumbergh7 • Damn, we're old
Men at Work, Ani DeFranco, Sarah McGaughlin, and Toad the Wet Sproket performing all within a week of one another in the PNW. Gotta get that empty nester Gen-X market!
photo of Pam Bondi testifying in the foreground as a group of 7 women and 1 men raise their hands
Likely-historic photo by NBC News of all the Epstein victims asked to raise their hands if they've not yet been asked to meet with the DOJ as Bondi testifies in foreground
I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
