How come they keep spelling “open” wrong?

Does that street look closed to you? Only if you’re a car… and presumably that’s the real problem. #UrbanTruth

It's basically 6% logo, 25% blank, 6% "welcome aboard", 34% "welcome aboard" again, and then a thin 29% slowly rotating between the time of day, next destination, stop requested, and operator number.

I don't expect everyone to care as much about information design as I do but...the TTC passenger information display could make better use of space.

The most disgraceful thing we did was turn the Memorial Plaza into a parking lot. While most of the parking remains, I’m happy we are at least giving the Memorial Wall some additional breathing room.

I also just want to say thank you again to everyone who made an effort to visit and support Pike Place Market this winter! It clearly made a difference. There is always more to explore and discover: www.pikeplacemarket.org

Pike Place Market just released new sales data for Feb 2026. Looks like Jan+Feb 2026 had 11% higher sales than Jan+Feb 2025 (before the pedestrian pilot)! Congrats Seattle, you managed to find a way to shop at the market in the dead of winter without driving your cars through the middle of it.

It would be great if NYC got these but, if you’ve ever peeked under the street, you know why underground bins might be impractical.
