Perhaps my data finding a correlation between pornography use and support for violent extremism shouldn’t be so surprising had we just listened to feminists

Some preliminary data from my recent study finds that not only does pornography use strongly and significantly correlate with attitudes permissive of violence against women, but also with attitudes sympathetic to violent extremism.
Great news 🥰
Among 13–17 year old boys in Australia:
— 28% agree that violence should be used against feminism
-- 36% agreed with misogynistic attitudes.
-- 25–30% agree with various forms of violent extremism
-- 40% agreed that women lie about domestic and sexual violence.

Question for all the academics who will read this: do you think of PhD supervision as 'teaching' or 'research'? Why? Please pick one; it's for workload allocation purposes. Please also tell me relevant details like continent, discipline, lab model or no, grant-funded or no. Thanks so much!
Guided missile warheads???
A lot of liberal denunciation of political violence on this app today. Good time to spruik this new edited volume with a chapter by yours truly on Revolutionary Feminism!

They’re wringing something anyway
This week, the UK government is proposing a ban on pornography that depicts strangulation. Much of the left is handwringing about it. But as Lucy and @drmeljohnston.bsky.social explain, “the left can’t have its whores and politics too.”

Someone will need to explain to me the logic of deregulating minimum fees in rates for solar in Victoria as incentivising more competitive rates?
Is this reply missing the sarcasm-indicating random capitalisation?
Well this can’t be good…

The use of Lime scooters and bikes as weapons of the resistance delights me in ways I can’t describe.
*”ethical” consumption
If no one has coined it yet, I’m calling this “red washing.” The appropriation of revolutionary symbolism by the capital class to promote consumption.
Day trip to Canberra and I’m greeted this morning at the airport cafe with the below sentiment.
To quote @drmeljohnston.bsky.social - “the revolution will be caffeinated.”
Anti-feminism is an prevalent political attitude in Australia. Violent anti-feminism is supported by nearly 20% of Australian men.
Needless to say, recognising our country’s problem with femicide does not amount to a “war on men”

That election rap is a bop and I’m afraid it may actually work.
