Saturday 7.12, can't wait for a night at my favorite spot in Miami, the Books & Books on Aragon, chatting with my favorite author in Miami, Patricia Engel, who doesn't think she writes noir but sorta does. @booksandbooks.bsky.social @vikingbooks.bsky.social

Anyone in Boston area, I'll be Newtonville Books tonight with the great Hank Phillippi Ryan, at 7pm, talking suspense, New England, and the weirdest things ever to happen on book tour. @newtonvillebooks.bsky.social @hankphillippiryan.bsky.social @vikingbooks.bsky.social

Thanks for reading! I'll be in Boston area at Newtonville Books Friday, signing as many copies as they can handle. I'm sure they could get a copy down to BB area. And Titcomb's, Eight Cousins, and other Cape area spots should have signed copies around, too. I need to get to more MA bookstores soon!

One of the best things about having a new book out is @oliviarutigliano.bsky.social photoshopping my book into different movies and making me spit take laugh. These two really got me.

Thank you, Sarah! The best company. And actually maybe we should just combine the three books and it's a bunch of reformed assassins getting caught up in MLMs at a beach house. Just an idea.

I have a new book out today - The House on Buzzards Bay - and I'm mostly just remembering this day exactly 2 years ago when I had another book out and my 3 y.o. told her teachers I was going on tour as a ballet dancer and everyone in our town just sort of accepted that as fact for about a month.

2 weeks until pub and a few places have said nice things about THE HOUSE ON BUZZARDS BAY and the good people @vikingbooks.bsky.social put those statements on a backdrop of murderous seagulls and osprey, for which I'm very grateful.

Megan Abbott on Criminal Conspiracies in the Fallen Suburbs In Megan Abbott’s suburbia, there are always darker forces at play. In her new novel, El Dorado Drive (G.P. Putnam, June 24, 2025), a feeling of loss and decline permeates the once prosperous…

To conduct this interview w Megan Abbott, I had to use a payphone, a code word, and a wire scrambler. Worth it bc we got to talk about Goodfellas + Cheever. Part of our Summer Reading 2025 coverage @crimereads.bsky.social @literaryhub.bsky.social @meganabbott.bsky.social

I'm new here, but feels like a safe space to admit I recently spent an entire writing day reading about Ella Fitzgerald recording the Rodgers & Hart songbook, then another writing day trying to shoehorn a bunch of Ella & Lorenz Hart stuff into a crime novel. It's all gonna work out fine, I think...

Very grateful to @literaryhub.bsky.social for shouting on THE HOUSE ON BUZZARDS BAY, even if they called it a psychosexual thriller, which it is, and now I have to go to readings in Massachusetts where presumably my old grade school teachers are going to show up. Still, really grateful tho
