Blown away every year by the quality of ideas brought to stage by our young entrepreneurs who are part of the Liu Lab for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Rice.

Last night I attended Texas Southern University’s annual Tiger Ball. I am proud to be a supporter of TSU, a historic institution that has been a vehicle for educational attainment and economic mobility for thousands of Black Texans.
Grateful to spend Sunday morning at The Luke Church.
Thank you for the warm welcome, your support, and for all you do to lift our community.
Great team block walking today! Lots of support from the ones that were home 🏡 We walked through a very diverse neighborhood in Cypress.

It was a great time with many amigos at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Business Luncheon.
Gracias Francisco Sanchez for the seat at your table. There is no doubt in my mind that Latinos are a powerhouse in Houston and Harris County!
Vamos Annise, vamos Annise, vamos!!!! Gracias a mi amigo Ramiro por tenernos en su hermosa propiedad. Platicamos bastante, me compartieron sus preocupaciones y escuchamos a Bad 🐰.

Celebrating Fleet Week—a rare treat as we don’t have a Navy base! However, there have been 4 ships with the USS Houston designation. Sadly, the last was decommissioned in 2016.
On March 1 each year, I remember the USS Houston (CA-30), sunk in 1942 in the Battle of the Sunda Strait.
Today’s Coffee & Conversation in Pasadena at Silver Sycamore was a success! Thank you to CM Estrada and Commissioner Garcia for your enthusiasm and support of my candidacy.
As I told everyone in the room, in times of crisis, you won’t have to look for me. I’ll be standing right there with you.
A wonderful Saturday evening at the Hindu American Foundation Gala. Preserving and passing down culture and tradition to the next generation is work that truly matters. Always a pleasure to be in community—and yes, to enjoy a little spice in my food.
Grateful to join Teamsters Local 988 for a great BBQ lunch today.
I stand with workers—because strong unions don’t just protect jobs, they protect dignity, fairness, and the future of working families.
Enjoyed last night’s fundraising Roast and Toast of Dr. Dick Murray, benefitting the Hobby School of Public Affairs at UofH.
Here are 3 Mayors, a State Senator, and some of my friends in the house.
My statement on Houston City Council’s passage of today’s ordinance limiting interactions between HPD and ICE.
Join us this Sunday, April 12th from 2pm-4pm for some “Coffee & Conversation” with Pasadena CM Estrada, Commissioner Garcia and myself.
Looking forward to seeing you at Silver Sycamore!

I guess the word has spread and the possums are volunteering…
Surprised by the opossum haters!
Marsupials—nothing cuter than seeing joey butts sticking out of mom’s pouch. Or mom with a gang on her back. Not aggressive. Omivores, eat roaches & ticks! Don’t spread rabies. Shouldn’t be out in the day. Until the body’s about 7in long, should still be riding mom.
Grateful to spend Easter Sunday with my son Jovon at The Windsor Village Church and Outreach Baptist Missionary Church surrounded by faith and community.
A reminder of hope, renewal, and caring for one another. Happy Easter. 💐✝️
May today bring you peace, time with loved ones, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Happy Easter. 💐🐣✝️
Thank you Reverend Steve Hall and Fred Woods for inviting me to Bethany Baptist church annual Good Friday fish fry. There’s nothing better than good food with good people.
Thank you Tom Abrahams for having me on! Go to 10min30sec to watch my interview.

There was a time when I could work with John Cornyn on things like a national bill to fund rape kit testing, but he has sold his soul to Trump in this election battle, and he has sold us out on the SAVE Act.
Let's focus on something we ALL agree on:

Cosplaying working class Rafael Cruz went to Princeton and Harvard. When he flees his constituents without power, he stays at the Ritz-Carlton.
His wife, Heidi, is Managing Director at the fancy investment firm Goldman Sachs.
They are not men & women with callouses on their hands. They are elites.
Thank you to Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church and Reverend Acie Jefferson for the warm welcome. It was great to celebrate Palm Sunday in the historic Sunnyside community
A young woman was handing these out yesterday at the No Kings Protest. All I could think was ”Honey, my protest era started in the 70s. Buckle up!”
Joined Houstonians downtown today, standing for what matters most.
We the people NOT kings, NOT one man, are the foundation of this democracy. Proud to stand with those using their voices and showing up.
As said by the first time protester with the No Kings flag: a President that gives the American people anxiety shouldn’t be President at all. A nonsense war, higher gas and grocery prices and reigning with fear isn’t what we the people deserve.
Didn't need to go to the rodeo to wrangle critters! Not quite big enough to release, so we took Possi here: wildlifecenteroftexas.org. We are lucky to have this great resource available in our area.
