If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

Spotted on Google Maps, from a folkloric perspective this seems unwise…

Same with cult films and folk horror. Also, folk horror vibes but not actually horror is an interesting category.

I don't think it should be a hot take to say that witchcraft films and folk horror films are different things. Theoretically some might be both, but not often.

Your continued existence pleases me! (And I don't like interrupting important business, but maybe, some con soon you'll be able to take it easy.)

You know how fandom panels tend to get filled with authors and professionals? Well, in the spirit of memberships-not-tickets I propose one panel a day where only non-professional fans are eligible, and the professionals have to ask questions-not-comments if they want to contribute :D

Photograph of items from Reconnect. Including the event magazine, the special edition of Irish Horror and Fantasy from Phantasmagoria magazine, and their older Lovecraft Squad edition. Plus the short book 'Oved of Ohncara' by Alli Weir. The event badge and lanyard, with Dublin 2029 and Vauxhall! ribbons, and a they/them pin badge. And some Cthulhu propaganda.

Had such a great time at Reconnect (Eastercon in Belfast)! Attended so many great panels, caught up with people, and discovered new films, magazines, and authors. Truly feel like it has healed my relationship to cons. Reconnected me, you might say. Hope to see you at @octocon.bsky.social

Two weeks ago we heard that Meta is facing fines for refusing to restrict content on fb, insta in Turkey.

But now we're seeing that bsky *is* blocking content in Turkey.

This might be a good place for business, but it can't be your only place for activism/journalism.

Wore my (2012?!) Bensiabel with my (2023) Snooty Bat last night, and I have never smelt anything more perfect. But now I'm sad again they've stopped shipping to EU.

This has been an unasked for BPAL perfume update.
