Anyway, Trump is weak on morals

Sure, but I actually suspect there are multiple things in the Talmud that are relevant to highway maintenance.
Apparently Trump posted about how the pope is weak on crime, does that count?
Seriously. K-12 schools are free to everyone. And lots of wealthy folks in NYC could send their kids to public schools, but choose to send them to private schools. (Which is a problem! But the solution to that problem is not "don't let them access free preschool"....)
I suspect he actually is getting the idea FROM his constituents, because people want accountability for what the current administration is doing, and that posting about it is to make folks feel like he's listening, without actually doing anything because yeah, the party is not going to even try.
...because once you are deported, it will be easier to get home if you can argue they broke two laws in deporting you instead of only one?
The woman who survived five gunshots from a Border Patrol agent in Chicago, only to be criminally charged and then cleared, now wants a judge’s permission to share records showing how the feds respond when agents use deadly force.

Important: Kash Patel’s egregiously anti-first-amendment statements here and Cam Higby’s claim to have “infiltrated” huge ICE-monitoring chats do NOT mean Signal is somehow “compromised.”
“An asshole manages to get added to some massive + intentionally minimally-screened chats” is not surprising.
I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...
Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.
I think term limits are another valuable piece of this puzzle. It's not just that there are so many who are over 60 (70, 80, 90, wherever you want to draw the line), it's that there are so many who are permanent fixtures and I mean "fixtures" purely in the decorative sense. A combo would be useful.
I also wear glasses! My goggles fit over glasses. I can't remember if I got special ones for that purpose (but I definitely got them at Fontana so they aren't some sort of custom speciality equipment).
I often forget about them, but goggles make a huge difference! Bigger than I had imagined before I got some (and we are coming up on the time of year when outdoor equipment places have sales on winter stuff)
This is also how I feel about masking. Way better than being sick every time I travel.
I'm so curious what it would be like if the US joined the International Criminal Court. Which obviously doesn't address "narcoterrorism" but does create a framework for countries to address harm committed by world leaders...
Seriously. This action was set in place a long time ago, both generally with the US invoking "regime change" to attack other countries for resources, and specifically with Venezuela since Chavez. (Do I think the Maduro government is fucked up? Yes. Doesn't make imperialism good, though).
I'm excited for the misplaced outrage when folks looking at the info fail to take into account that the SAT's total possible points has changed over time (I'm not nearly as familiar with the other standardized tests).
Maybe with enough years of hearing actual, informed analysis, the "average American" will be able to provide excellent explanations of current events.
And frankly, the "analysis" part is what academics (by definition!) can provide that the rest of us can't. I don't need to hear or see people like me talking about politics, I need to hear and see the people who actually study these things and who can provide context and help make meaning of it all!
Seriously. And by elders, I mean everyone older than me.
I understand that AI is what will be reading my application. I don't like that either.
People keep telling me to use it to help with my cover letters. Including the resume counselor at the job center, who told me that he talks to Gemini all the time on his phone. I don't want to!
Note: they did not automatically unblind us. It was by request. In other words, they kept a control group going as long as possible. But it would not have been ethical to refuse to let us (I was in the control group, it turned out) to get vaccinated once a vaccine (not even theirs!) was available.
I was in a COVID vaccine study in 2020-2021. It was a randomized and double blind study with a control group that received saline instead of a vaccine. When the first COVID vaccines were approved, we could request to be unblinded, and to get vaccinated if we were in the control group.
Oh, hi Edmund Fitzgerald
Damn, that sucks. They opened a year or three before I left NYC and were one of my intros to radical spaces. I've only made it there a few times in the last 10+ years but have been truly happy to see it continuing. Until now..
Yes, and also it creates the groundwork for going after individuals involved with those organizations and groups (broadly defined as "anyone to the left of MAGA").
Which is annoying not jut because of cost, but because I have a lot of recipes that are based on "one box of Mori-nu silken tofu". At my local stores, there's one or two brands of fresh(er) tofu that are 14 oz, but many are down to 12 oz, while my cookbooks still call for a pound of tofu.
Have you checked your backpack?
Tbh, I would like the Dems to campaign for most of the things that the Republicans accuse them of supporting. I'm way more in support of the party that the GOP campaigns against than the actual Democrats.
It's a lot like online dating. (Which is not to say I understand it. Just that it's similar)
