Help! Get RSS and Atom feeds from your favourite websites and blogs sent to your email account in real time, for free.

Blogtrottr's filters just got smarter! You can now combine rules into groups with AND/OR logic, filter by URL (e.g. ignore anything containing "shorts" and never see a YouTube Short again), and if you're comfortable with regex you can go even further.

Whatever TURN THE VOLUME UP

For those who don't know, my site is at scalzi.com and I post there on an almost daily basis (as does @athenascalzi.com). You can also set it up in your RSS feed and can even subscribe to it via email so it feels like a newsletter. I don't charge money for any of it because I don't need or want to.

If you don't use one already, it's never a bad day to set up an RSS reader.

A quick update on email templates 👋 The "minimal" template has graduated and is now the default for new Blogtrottr accounts. It's cleaner, easier to read, and generally better on modern devices.
Existing accounts remain as they were, but if you want to switch, you can do so from Account Settings.

Why RSS matters The future of the web depends on simple, open standards.

Ben Werdmuller wrote a new perspective on RSS. It's great, just what we need. RSS is of the web, and is the simplest most obvious way to get all the twitter-like systems connected.

RSS rules. RSS never became less relevant. RSS is a way to claw your agency back from silicon valley algorithmic timelines. That said if you use it you really are a sicko

If I could say one thing it'd be please for the love of all that is good, learn how to use RSS Readers because I feel like people's… dismissal of RSS is a huge part of what makes people feel trapped into:

- Frequent-Posting
- Self-RTing all the time

Like much of the Internet, this is causing some issues accessing the website blogtrottr.com. Feeds (for sites that don’t rely on Cloudflare) are still being processed.

Edge graph of all blogs in my dataset.

Each node represents a blog.
Each edge represents an incoming or outgoing link.
The bigger and redder the node the more incoming links it receives.

Spent the past week mining my RSS reader to map what I'm calling the "Blogverse"

Still adding data and tuning the graph, but I'll share soon

Early stats: 1027 blogs, 13393 links, 203918 posts - and counting
