Enjoyed Jim Jarmusch’s latest film, the rather low-key ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’. Features some great performances not least from Tom Waits. Three stand alone pieces about the relationships between parents, their adult children and siblings. Oh, and ‘Bob’s your uncle’.

Remembering Alexis Korner born OTD in 1928 (died in January 1984).
I saw him play The Marquee in 1983 where his band included Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Ruby Turner.

Caroline Collett, Part 2

Excellent Part 2 with @collettwriter.bsky.social in this latest Punk Scholars podcast which looks at punk and gender and the recasting of the nihilism associated with punk as a “promising void”. Includes Caroline reading another extract from her forthcoming book

A wedding engagement (not mine) keeps me from being at the Vale for today’s @wealdstonefc.bsky.social game against Scunthorpe. But here’s something for Stones fans to be getting on with - picture taken at Northwick Park tube station en route. UTS!

Morning Des. My local record shop in the 1980s (Discoveries in Wealdstone) was not just a place to buy records but to hang out and catch the up on the latest. Would probably now be called a ‘cultural hub’.
