"Someone tried to strangle Sneako", "Clavicular just had a drug overdose", I refuse to believe that understanding any of these headlines is better for me than chain-smoking

This day in 1976, Anne Rice's first novel was released.
Rest easy, Anne. Or don't--I like to assume you're still out in the ether raising absolute hell.

The thing about my protag being a drag queen is that I sometimes have to come up with ideas for performances and just pray that they're any good even though I have zero talent for this kind of art at all.

Maverick has sat on the arm of my chair during every writing session for Wasp Honey, so I think I need to credit her as my coauthor at this point.

Finding out on this fine Thursday evening that booktok is reading first person pov like a self insert fanfic and then getting angry when the protagonist makes decisions the reader wouldn't make and then DNF-ing the book...

We really have to start leaving *some* children behind.

Do NOT interpret this as helplessness or 'ah, well, nevertheless.' We keep us safe and we get out of this together, because abusers are very rarely prepared for any meaningful pushback and we do not need to depend on the people who fail to act when they witness abuse.

"you are responsible for every possible way your words may be interpreted" is an expectation, I think, that no one would want applied to themselves, but it seems to be becoming normal on this site. internalizing this is a good way to make yourself crazy.

Aw, thank you! 😊 That's very kind of you.

It's a sapphic horror story centered around female rage and themes of fate and meeting your match. I have posted a few snippets of it here, if you're interested.

Pilgrim
I literally never read a prologue on principle alone. If it's that important, it should be in the book.

I agree completely. The epilogues and prologues aren't part of the story. If they were important they would be part of the story.
People write forwards for books, that's just another person writing about what they thought about the book or author... I assume that's what author is doing in the prologue and epilogues

I do not take booktok seriously and I never will. What the fuck you mean the epilogue and prologue β€œaren’t part of the book/story”???????

How's my weight gain going? Well, I've expanded past the capacity of damn near all my elastic-waist pants. Now I'm not even certain what size jeans I currently am.
