I remember using one back in the day. It was a pretty horrible experience. It might be a more interesting concept with modern optical tracking technology but the rollerball stuff back then was just awful.

Probably. I'll find a solution eventually, even if it has to wait until my next trip across the pond. Heh.
Turns out all links to bbc.co.uk sites get redirected to bbc.com now if you're outside of the UK so everything breaks. Even worse is that bbc.com is a minefield of the worst full-screen advertising slop you can imagine if you try viewing it without a good malware blocker.
When I go to the story, it momentarily shows me a page that might have an embedded version but the page instantly redraws with a version that does not. When I go to the page for the BBC Sounds episode directly, it momentarily shows me the Play button but the page instantly redraws with a 404 error.
This is a good read. I wish Paul's BBC Sounds documentary wasn't currently geoblocked. Hoping to have a listen sometime soon.

What percentage of motor vehicles currently in use do you think have at least one stray French fry on the floor somewhere?
It’s 4:30am. Why am I still awake? Insomnia sucks.
🪨 Aldus PageMaker on the Apple Macintosh 🛠️
It wasn't the first #desktoppublishing app, but it was the first of importance. I use it to rebuild #OMNI Magazine and examine how the publishing revolution influenced the public sector.

That’s exactly what came to mind for me as well.
I’m glad I’m not in the dating pool these days. Decades ago, I had multiple people accuse me of copy/paste because I had the nerve to actually write more than just, “hey whatsup?”
It's just too bad I don't understand Japanese.

A stack of Minidiscs next to a Sharp MD-MT15 Minidisc Recorder. A Commodore US*8 calculator can be seen in the background.
Last weekend I picked up hundreds of Minidiscs. They all had stuff recorded on them, including a bunch of Japanese music so I've been having fun listening to those. So far I've been introduced to the following groups:
Mongol800
Chemistry
Dreams Come True
Shakalabbits

Replace “old PS1 games” with “old computers” but, yeah.

Go ahead. Call me a control freak.

Two logos. On the top is the logo for Tensorflow, an AI software library. On the bottom is the logo for Fleet Farm, a chain of retail stores. Both use similar stylized orange letters.

76°F outside. It’s unintentional door slamming season again.
I still have one tape that I recorded off KTMA myself back then. It was The Last Chase.
Oh, the hours I spent playing this game... back in the day on my C64 and even more recently, although I typically play it on a PET these days.
I don't remember ever caring about Eurovision before but I love this song and video from Look Mum No Computer. Just so much fun.

Who are you? The spirit of Cesar Chavez. Why do you look like Cesar Romero? Because you don't know what Cesar Chavez looks like.
