Shocked that the guy who thinks the Twitter Files were the greatest scandal of our times isn’t impressed.
ABOLISH ICE.
We put the old robot vac in the garage and damn a garage robot vac is awesome
RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?
RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition
PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!
This link seems to 404. I’m interested in seeing what you have here!
Spare us the “narco terrorist” talk from an admin that pardons & releases actual charged & convicted drug kingpins.
Hegseth bears responsibility for these unlawful strikes and must be held accountable.
If the admin doesn’t cooperate with a congressional investigation, then Hegseth must be removed.
Worth watching this whole clip. Indistinguishable from Nazi leaders talking about Jews in the 1930s.
I've just started to really use git worktrees, and wow, why did I never use this before?
Screenshot from Matt Pocock's youtube video "How I use Claude Code for real engineering", where he has `CLAUDE.md` open in VS Code. I've added a highlight to emphasize the line that reads "In all interactions and commit messages, be extremely concise and sacrifice grammar for the sake of concision."
LLMs, especially Claude Code, write a *lot*.
Left to their own devices they'll write a 2000-line planning doc instead of a 200-line one.
Nice tip from @mattpocock.com here to add a top-level "be more concise" rule to the CLAUDE rules file.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.
Along with everything else, Trump admitting the shutdown led to a bloodbath for Republicans should at an absolute minimum lead Dem Senators to shelve their apparent plan to prematurely cave. He's admitting he and the GOP are in a weak position, Dems. Exploit that!
Just saw a hurt coyote limping past our house. That's a bummer way to start the day.
The shutdown is ultimately a legislative negotiation about a budget.
Hard to resolve it when the controlling party in one part of Congress refuses to negotiate, will not re-open the House, is not in DC.
chiptune.app/browse as viewed on mobile
Once again I am endorsing chiptune.app as my favourite music streaming service (it's free.)
I don’t understand why the 59Fifty (flat brim) hats are so much more popular than the 39Thirty (baseball caps) hats, to the point where a lot of designs are available in 59 but not 39
repeating non-falsifiable claims undermines the entire premise of journalism
Pass a law. Make them unmask.
And once we have a new Congress and a new POTUS, abolish ICE.
To be clear, I'm not saying a rails fork is a wonderful idea that will definitely spread... I'm saying it is way more likely to be a wonderful idea than trying to convince rails projects to migrate to a completely different framework.
Sure, you can use a different framework for greenfield projects if you want to. But trying to convince existing rails projects to migrate to a completely different framework seems like a big lift. A rails fork would be much easier of a migration path.
Jellyfin forked Emby, and the open source project gobbled up a lot of the Emby users. Back in the day, MariaDB did the same thing for MySQL. Would it be easier to convince your employer to migrate to a completely different framework, or a fork of an existing framework that you have already built on?
Great for new projects, but what about existing ones? With a fork, there is a path that existing projects could migrate to it.
I'm at 294 stars, can I make it to 300 today?

Seriously though, just use GNU Stow for your dotfiles
Prettier's default width should be 100, not 80. I will die on this hill.
Honestly serious: JUST DON'T UPDATE PACKAGES RIGHT NOW.
It is unclear to me yet, but this is looking pretty wide spread. Better be safe than sorry, just go touch some grass.

A real leader would remind us that the vast majority Americans do not hate each other. That what unites us is greater than what divides us. That violence is not a solution.
But Trump is going to use this as an opportunity to suppress critics who had nothing to do with this crime and condemn it.
Sen. Ruben Gallego: "Ashli Babbitt was a traitor. She was a traitor to this country. She was part of a violent mob that tried to overthrow our democracy...She didn't die protecting our country. She died trying to turn it down...She wasn't a martyr. She was and is a traitor."
