DLSS5 brush was the solution. Now it IS the artist’s intent 🤔

We have enough uberwealthy companies with high mortality rates. They’re going to stay winning if they have a good service. Please make your online shops good so that we can stay as customers.

I’m buying a very common product, parsing the antiquated layout of older websites, dodging ads, cookies and mailing lists. I eventually was successful.

All I’m trying to do is avoid Amazon. Amazon accepts names with spaces, foreign phone numbers, no amount is too small for them, all is streamlined.

Fifth informed me that I don’t qualify for free shipping unless I added a note from my doctor. It could be used for medical reasons, sure, but let me pay full price for the product, and full price for the shipping.

It worked, they even accepted Apple Pay, speeding up the transaction.

Fourth reassured me twice discount codes and vouchers didn’t work on third party sales. That’s okay, I’m new here and don’t plan on returning. I’m willing to pay full price for this item.
Selecting a payment method lead to a page informing me I couldn’t pay with that method. How sad.

Third site had a modal pop-up with a promo when adding the product to the basket. I couldn’t close the pop-up. Another pop-up slid in asking me to sub to their newsletter. I was able to close that one.

I’m trying to buy something small and common online.

First site didn’t accept my money unless I added 20 euros worth of product. A box was 8.- and contains 50 things, honestly I only needed 5, and I need nothing else, so can’t use that site.

Second site required me to make an account. No thanks.

Letting it rest overnight may help. I’m playing classic Tomb Raider and day 3 felt better than day 2 than day 1.

I don’t have too many hours for games, but let the brain do its thing overnight did wonders.

Negative for me, though I never thought of it as a negative or positive person 😂

More of a stern “did you do your homework? Empty the bins? Called your mother? You did? Then let’s go play video games!”

Every hard constraint is actually soft, and anything that can happen will happen, or your forest isn’t big enough.

I decided artists can always make a mesh that contains two trees in the same spot :P

I was working on a procedural forest. Trees have a minimum distance from each other, with a different minimum for shrubs and mushrooms. Got some good results and felt proud.

That weekend I went hiking and saw two trees growing in the same spot.

JavaScript was a mistake. A more performant and less versatile option should exist for browsers. JS is often not used for our best intentions.

A screenshot of my phone showing various apps and how much power they consume. Safari consumed 15% in 6m while Bluesky consumed 14% in 34 minutes.

My phone is 5+ years old. I’d want a new one for the battery but Apple only makes iPhones that are bigger in size than what I own now.

6 minutes of Safari is 15% battery life! Incredible numbers from Bluesky. Looking at more stats Bsky consumes consistently 50% less than browsing or retail apps.

“You can’t reach out but feel free to reach out” beautiful.

Also, AI summary is a nice contemporary touch

See if you can sync the camera app to 50 or 60hz, often webcam software has is to reduce flickering.

If you can set the exposure time try 1/60, 1/50, 1/30 or 1/25.

CRT photography is hard btw, good luck

I’m a fan of Gosling but I had to google PHM, I haven’t heard of it. I did see a ton of Mario ads, so it doesn’t surprise me.
I’m also a dad and my kid yells “wahoo” on a daily basis, so I’m the target demographic 😂

How do we proceed from here? Bring back forums? “This is where we discuss programming and games, no politics” and the only bots are operated by Unity trying to salvage their reputation?

Poster for The Day the Earth Stood Still. It features of robot holding up a woman while shooting a laser beam from its eye socket, a hand holding their grasp over the planet Earth, and a list of actors who have worked on the movie Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal, Hugh Marlow.

Today I watched The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). It still holds up incredibly well, beautifully shot, and genuinely entertaining. Highly recommend.

What struggles do you mainly face? GCC being more strict than MSVC? :P

Good luck! You are using MSVC for Windows and now using Clang?

Good question. All the ads for AI acceleration, but no actual product that uses it. A reasonable offline model runs poorly on 750 tops and needs 16gb of vram.

If it’s just there to run Siri it’d be pretty wasted silicon.

I got my hands on a 2560x1080 monitor. When I boot my PC the screen does one of the following:
- S̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶c̶o̶r̶r̶e̶c̶t̶l̶y̶
- 2560x1080 squished to 1920
- 2560x1080 with padding on all four sides?
- 1920x1080, leaving the sides empty
- 1080x2560

The last one is ideal as I can rotate it, and it’ll be correct

I’m hoping that Steam will make a dent. Affordable Linux based machines that could be used for development, common enough to have as a target for software developers, guides specific for these developers.

At the moment I see no other way, I t’s a mess.
I appreciate your effort porting to Linux :)

I recently tried booting my old PC I haven’t touched in 10 years. It didn’t boot so I went through all the hard drives to find interesting stuff.

Mounted the drive, just a bog-standard Win7 installation with nothing of value stored on it.

Parsing the MBR, NFTS PBS, MFT, $MFT, $Volume, $LogFile, scanning for known filenames and verifying the content of those files, until only one valid stripe size remained.
Then merging the volumes took 57 hours, so I worked on a more efficient read/write pattern. Down to 11h.
