A monochrome screengrab showing three men. On the right is a middle-aged Asian man (Julian Sherrier as Dr James) dressed in a suit. To the left is a middle-aged white man (Stratford Johns as DCI Barlow) also in a suit. Behind them and in the centre of the images is a young white uniformed police constable.

Just watched a 1962 episode of Z Cars and was pleased to learn from the credits that Dr James was played by Julian Sherrier, more commonly known around these parts as seaweed-head alien Zephon in The Daleks’ Master Plan. Here he is (on the right) in less futuristic guise.

Possibly the most interesting OST of 60s Doctor Who… and I’m a Dudley Simpson fiend!

Check out the first of my guides to Tristram Cary’s music for The Daleks’ Master Plan on YouTube.

A monochrome image from newsprint. A photograph shows William Hartnell as Dr Who and Carole Ann Ford as Susan being menaced by a Dalek while manacled to a wall, from ‘Doctor Who’. Below, text publicises the episode called ‘The Rescue’.

Look at this gorgeous photo from The Daleks used in the Radio Times. I haven’t seen the original of the image so I assume it’s long lost and this is the only version we have, which is a shame.

I believe Inspector Morse has Troughton, Eccleston and Trevor Martin at one point or another, if that meets the criteria.

Spotted that as well. What's the point? It's a lovely scan that's been done, and as you say it's 60+ year old telly at (less than, strictly speaking!) 405 lines of resolution. It's never going to look like Game of Thrones
