Fair enough for EU data centers. My experience has been primarily in the U.S., where the Westin building in Seattle is one of the only urban data centers in the U.S. to recycle heated water for residential use.

Are there examples of data centers actually doing this? Most data centers are sited in rural or highly industrialized areas with few residential areas nearby. Those residents often pay higher prices for electricity due to competition from the data center(s).
