Pie! But also for savory options you could do salsa or cheese

I understand that this is possible in theory but I do not want to spend any amount of my vacation hand-washing my undies in a hotel sink.

My big advice is to wear comfortable shoes.
Otherwise really whatever makes YOU feel good is fine. Jeans & a T-shirt (or a "going out too") is always a safe fall back especially if you're not someone who is a big fan of the group.

This is the way

NGL I have looked into options like this for when I am on business travel. I am so used to my multiple monitors at home that I have trouble doing any real work on my laptop screen beyond like, keeping up with email or maybe updating the speakers's notes for a PPT. But i never work from cafes/bars

Listen, I understand WHY it's called that but having to go to the "Orphan's Court" to deal with a parent's estate is a little too on the nose

I got the kit from the MD Sheep and Wool festival last year! They apparently sold out super quickly (unsurprisingly) but shipped it to me very quickly!

A knitted hat based on the Maryland state flag. There is a row of black ribbing at the bottom, then the red and white Crossland cross, then the black and yellow Baltimore checks round up to the crown of the hat.

doesn't the MENU provide the inspiration?? I'm so confused by this. "oh, that sounds good!" or "ew, no thanks!" (I also don't drink coffee so most coffee places don't have an overwhelming number of options for me)

He probably already knows about all of it because that is absolutely the kind of thing he reads up on but i'm gonna tell him anyway

Purple irises blooming outside a screen window.

Purple irises blooming outside a screen window.

When we first got our house, my in-laws gave us some irises and lilies from their garden. T and I dug a small bed for them outside my office window, which means now this is my view:

The dopamine comes from hitting "buy" and then imagining the arrival of the thing and then the thing is either not what you expected or you just have so many other things it gets subsumed into the collection. And the quality of so many consumer goods has gone so downhill!

(I mean, it's still nice, just would be nicer if I could breathe through my nose)

The tree-lined corner lot SEEMS nice until all 7 of those oak trees lining the lot are launching drifts of pollen into the air at once.

I think there is something to that but also at a certain point I think we can argue that the tenets of a religion are what its adherents believe, even if that's not what an outsider would arrive at from the texts/teachings. And Christianity has a long history of doing terrible stuff.

I think it can be useful to know a) do I actually have time to make [gift] before [date]? But also in explaining to non-crafters how long these things take (and why hand-knitted objects cost so much)

Unpossible

I stole it from some article about "admin parties" where people all bring their laptops to work on whatever they have been procrastinating on, but yeah, it was a big hit and will probably become an annual event!

This was amazing - we got our wills and living wills signed and witnessed, someone filed their taxes, other people didn't finish what they were working on but made significant progress. Plus I got to feed like 15 friends, which is my favorite.

We are having a "Death and Taxes" party and my dining room table is full of folks working on their end-of-life planning and their taxes and it's amazing.

I actually think this a good and relevant take but: if you are unwilling to try to accommodate your guests' dietary restrictions you should let someone else host

It's the annual Ask a Manager salary survey! Every year, vastly fewer men fill this out than women. Men, please share your salary info (anonymously) so we have concrete salary comparisons to inform pay negotiations and fight the pay gap
