Once upon a classroom, I thought the number of entries in the grade book was a reflection of my effectiveness as a teacher.

So, I graded.

A lot.

Now, I try to make as few entries as possible.

My effectiveness?

Better than ever.

I spend my time giving feedback, not grades.

We can do better.

Include marginalized characters in your books. As long as you *do the work to make sure you're not a dick about it* representation is just so important

You probably won't be perfect & readers will inevitably have critiques. But it's always better to include than exclude
