Thanks so much to @briangresko.bsky.social for inviting me to participate in—and more importantly—for facilitating this meaningful project.

Wrote an essay on the modest optimistic practices of writing and reading and showing up and standing with during these dark times for @writingco-lab.bsky.social's 100 Days of Creative Resistance (while also slipping in some lines from Nazim Hikmet, Lydia Davis, and colleagues and coworkers).

OpenAI releases a teacher's guide to ChatGPT, but some educators are skeptical | TechCrunch OpenAI has partnered with Common Sense Media to release a new resource for K-12 teachers using ChatGPT. But some educators are skeptical.

Awful. OpenAI (and other AI cos) are making a hard push for getting AI into K-12 schools, which they see as a burgeoning market. Most teachers I've spoken to, meanwhile, say AI is terrible.

Outside of computer class, there should be no gen AI in K12 schools, period.

Fun to see the muskrat discover what a thousand newspaper stories have proclaimed for at least eight years: the leaden density of the jello salad between the ears of the fearless leader. (Epstein said DJT's semi-illiterate.)

(But should I be caustic on this platform? Is that unbutterfly of me?)

Disturbing prediction from @pkrugman.bsky.social: If Trump's deportations really happen, inflation will spike, then MAGA loyalists will corrupt government info to mask it.

For autocrats, he says, "among their first targets are statistical agencies."
