‘Everyone is Replaceable’: Death Rattles Oregon Amazon Facility A worker died at Amazon’s Troutdale warehouse last week. Employees were told to look away.

For more than a week, Amazon has managed to keep a death at its Troutdale, Oregon, facility out of public view.

Workers I spoke to are pissed.

Given Trump’s Easter threats to carry out new war crimes in Iran, we should think one or two steps ahead about a coup attempt connected to the war. And then deter it. (1/17)

For folks going into geomorphology (practice or research), I'd love to see a full year of calc, differential equations, and ideally 1 or 2 statistics courses (perhaps one on analysis methods and one on sampling methods). Some stats, at least (and then lots more in grad school).

This is extremely important. Big protests are great ways to recruit for local orgs who oppose the regime.

If you think No Kings is too vague or insufficiently radical, I sincerely encourage you to go to your local No Kings rally tomorrow and hand out flyers/zines to recruit folks to your org/cause. It's a perfect recruitment event! Thousands of people eager to DO STUFF! Get out there!

I've also struggled to find anything off-the-shelf. This is one of those issues that seems very easy, but at least when I've tried (mostly in CloudCompare using a combination of ground classification + height thresholding), it has turned out to be really hard. Would love an off-the-shelf method.

I think it is just beginning to translate. It's on those for whom it has translated to help the rest make the connection. Why not let geology radicalize you?

Bed-Stuy bike shop reopens as worker cooperative The bike shop has provided bike services to the community since 2021 and is now run by five people, who all have an equal share in the business.

This bike shop reopened as a worker-owned cooperative in Brooklyn, New York City. Now its workers own the store and have direct control over their schedule, compensation, and working conditions.

This kind of freedom is possible for every working person. It's called economic democracy, and it works.

It really is fascinating how overt it now is that there are certain - really not controversial - ideas that you aren’t allowed to say on television.

Happened to us recently. Sorry. Starting your prius to the sound of a hot rod engine really sucks. FWIW, we got an aftermarket one put in that has seemingly been working fine.

So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.
