Commonwealth Court rules the state constitution includes a fundamental right to abortion • Pennsylvania Capital-Star Susan Frietsche, of the Women’s Law Project, said the Medicaid coverage exclusion was the single largest barrier to abortion access in Pa.

This is a wonderful decision for Pennsylvania! And calling abortion a fundamental right is a satisfying slap in the face to the extremists on the Supreme Court.

EU’s top court finds Hungary’s anti-LGBTQ+ law in breach of key values ECJ says law passed in 2021 is discriminatory and ‘contrary to the identity of the union’, in early test for new PM

“The EU’s highest court has found Hungary’s anti-LGBTQ+ law to be discriminatory, stigmatising and in breach of basic democratic values…”

This is a crucial decision. The court rejected the political claim that LGBTQ+ representation is “propaganda.” We must keep fighting politics that dehumanise us.

1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public yesterday by California AG @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.

Portland's mayor actually said we'd be a "flyover city" if we don't use taxpayer money to renovate the Moda Center. Pretty gross!

Me in mirrored aviator sunglasses wearing a shirt in Saturday Night Fever font that reads Four Twenty At Oregrown. My back is visible in the mirror behind me, which shows an image also like Saturday Night Fever, but with John Travolta's face replaced with a green alien head in the traditional style with black almond-like eves and a large cranium 👽

I stopped by the dispensary on my way home from work, because obviously. They gave me a t-shirt and sunglasses with my purchase. 👕 🕶️👽💃

Big abortion win in PA today - the ban on Medicaid funding is unconstitutional!

AND there's a fundamental right to abortion!

We won!

(Though this Commonwealth Court opinion can be appealed - we'll see what our AG does.)

Exchange between friend and me:

Him: "Tbh I feel like this could've happened in a Shakespeare play"
Me: "It was in an early draft of As You Like It [she didn't]"
Him: "As You Like It, as You Love It, as You Want Some More of It"

I responded to his last comment with an angry face emoji.

Many PAC’s and think tanks that are “moderate democrat” spend most of their money attacking progressive campaigns instead of the GOP. See end of thread for a more detailed list of these PACs and think tanks that do this with explicit examples of candidates they attacked and the methods used.

Not in the slightest a surprise. Leadership has little but disdain for their voters. It's why I'm no longer a Democrat.

I am grateful to be queer because it's meant Republicans make up only a tiny fraction of my dating pool. Queer Republicans exist but not in the same proportions.

The problem isn't my vote--the problem is that both parties' leadership have already decided that moving left is not an option, so my vote has no effect beyond a given election.

1 day ago 3 1 0 0

The system is broken if you're a progressive--neither party will move left regardless of who you do or not vote for.

If I vote Dem, they treat my vote as guaranteed; if I don't, they see it as unreachable. No matter what I do, they won't move left--they'll just blame me if/when they lose.

1 day ago 6 3 1 0

I agree, but not voting is treacherous--if you don't vote, the parties write you off as beyond reach. If you are a progressive, both parties are unwilling to cater to your demands, so it doesn't really matter who you vote for--neither party will court your vote.

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Yep, thus killing the chances of any progressive bills passing the legislature. Dems and Republicans don't always agree, but they definitely are united in their love of money and their hatred of progressives.

It seems to me that the Democratic establishment doesn't want supermajorities, because a supermajority means you have no one else to blame when you fail. If the House and Senate are close to balanced, only conservative, corporatist bills will pass and everyone can blame the other side.

Any candidate that takes money from Palantir should not receive your vote.

Co-founder Joe Lonsdale is pouring millions into a PAC to buy off Democrats, especially in California.
