I take your point, but there's also the possibility that all the things you mentioned are actually being limited by our current tools. AI art has won awards in competition with non-AI art, after all.

'Does the world really need this AI art?' is a question good for any artist to reflect on, at times...

If you can reasonably answer those questions (see previous), maybe there is a real need. Maybe you need information about fleeing your country's violence, for example, and need to make an AI infographic to better communicate your knowledge. You need a lot of compute and you need it fast. 3/4

Even very important things (such as the moon launches) were beyond the price we were willing and able to pay. I think this is currently the consideration with making AI art -- is there any rush? Could this still be done by hand? Is it worth the extra heat compute and the tax on our environment? 2/4

I suppose it's obvious but in the 1960s, when we first calculated how to get to the moon, we still did the math by hand. Not just for safety's sake, but because doing complex things with computers at that time required enormous amounts of power & rooms filled with machines. Not unlike #AI today. 1/4
