🚧 W. ROSEMARY ST. UPDATE: APRIL 17🚧
Phase 2 construction (Roberson–Mitchell) wraps next week. Crews return to Phase 1 (Merritt Mill–Roberson) to connect services. Brief water outages (≤ 30 min) for Phase 1 customers. Thu-Fri: single-lane closures at Columbia and E. Rosemary.

Next week, Phase 2 construction will continue to replace the water main on W. Rosemary St. between N. Roberston St. to Mitchell Ln. Crews will begin installing individual property water service lines on April 15.
The UNC Science Expo is April 11! 🔬🧪🤖 OWASA scientists will be performing water quality tests, and demos of our water treatment techniques. The Water Wagon will also be there to provide clean, cold water! Stop by the OWASA booth to learn from our experts and stay hydrated! 💧

OWASA offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. They will reopen on Monday, April 6, at 8 a.m.
Treatment plants will remain staffed and in operation. Call 919-968-4421 in the event of a water or sewer-related emergency.

Comment Deadline Extended‼️
OWASA has extended the deadline to submit comments on the draft Developer Reimbursement Policy for water and sewer facility extensions. Visit the link below to learn more about the policy and how to submit comments.
This week, OWASA hosted water professionals from across the state for the NCWOA Reservoir Management Training.
Trainees learned about OWASA's water conservation and forest management practices, watershed protection, invasive species, PFAS, and more from industry experts.
OWASA's annual water treatment change ends today, March 31, at midnight. We will switch from using chlorine to disinfect the distribution system to the usual combination of chlorine and ammonia (chloramines). Taste and odor impacts should begin to go away in early April.
