generally i feel like it’s quite difficult to capture the essence of theatre on screen. the magic often gets lost or doesn’t translate. but when people who love and understand musical theatre are involved the result is usually better. so i’m actually really looking forward to their performances

very often people with no musical theatre background are casted for movie musicals because they look the part or bc they are well known actors and it backfires. especially iconic roles like glinda and elphaba are really difficult to pull off

imma need those hobby tiktok casting directors to stfu right now. they saying ariana is the wrong casting choice because her makeup is “off“ the most important criteria should be that the actors can actually sing and act the part. cynthia & ariana are both experienced musical theatre performers
