It’s been an emotionally draining day. Started this morning full of big, abrasive feelings. I’m through it and glad to be transmitting pirate radio tonight, but I’m not over it.
One change I’m going to make is taking an earlier bed time, even on an Innersleeves night.

As for diagnosis, I don’t put much weight on labels because I don’t need to be defined. I have a label that probably helps explain this behavior, but it’s an unfair label to give to bright, naive kids.
Posting the set list, the advertisements on Bluesky and across almost two dozen Promo Channels is all in service of mingling #MTG Discord populations together, to grow small formats faster, and to build a community that embraces strange, new ways to play.
Going on without prep feels like a failure.
If I don’t go on tonight, that’s two weeks in a row. Trying to not beat myself up because it’s been tax time, and the background radiation of the world is at an all-time high. Feels like a mild failure to cancel the show.
If I do go on tonight, there’s no set list, and no advertisements were made.
Didn’t set myself up to perform ahead of time. No mise en place for the day-to-day, just fire-ready-aim.
I was hoping that Innersleeves would help train me, since it’s a chill concept.
But I’m stressed about it.
I expanded the mission, upped the stakes a little, and my expectations of myself.
I won’t cancel plans or postpone them, I just won’t say or do anything and let the day go by. Sometimes I don’t realize I do it, but pretty often I am aware that I’m sealing a building urgency that will lead to an emergency.
Sometimes broke holds me back, but it’s usually that I squandered my time.
It’s not like I can’t be on time, but I’m late often enough that people accept that’s who I am, for better or worse.
I’m great in a crisis, the kind of friend you hope for in the clutch moments. Just terrible with a calendar and deadlines and punctuality in general.
Like procrastination addiction.
NGL just poor time management, which is probably my biggest fault and flaw.
Very exacerbated by stress, evidenced by how I didn’t work yesterday just played games. Cleaned the kitchen, but only because I broke a glass.
I’m not sure how exactly I’m gonna change.

By set is a fine system for finding specific prints.
I’m sorting by alphabet, and it’s a big help for finding bulk rare cards I draft hard, like Upheaval. Been pleasantly surprised by finding sections where the sorting was kinda alpha-chuncked. Any sort method helps future efforts to refine!
I just finished sifting bulk blue this morning and bulk green last night.
