Went and did a height chart of some relevant people to my OCs. Vin has Val'zuun. Vel has Kael'thas, Rommath, and Victor (as well as Kael's ascended vampyr form)
I need to draw up Vel and Rommath's imitation ascended forms but they are still smaller than Kael's.

My eredar Vin has been in a siruationship with Val'zuun for ~500 years and they haven't confessed their feelings to each other because they both believe it to not be safe to. They are operating on Legion Argus and admitting it means it can no longer be denied. Which is dangerous.

Tbh Subnautica: Below Zero is *slightly* better for the deep water fear because there are more overland sections and it doesn't go quite as deep as the first one/they used less atmospheric horror. So that might be easier to get your feet wet!
