Public urged to report Census transcription issues Members of the public have been told that they can report any possible transcription issues in relation to the 1926 Census through the 'Contact Us' form on the National Archives website.

Apparently we can report errors through the main NAI query email. #1926census

For the first time this year that I'm aware of the ice cream van went round. Sadly the 'tune' has not had a tune up in the last few months.

A screenshot names and surnames from a household return from the Irish 1926 census. The presumably computer generated transcription has completely garbled the results.

Based on a very small sample, the digitization of the Irish 1926 Census hasn't been great. This is my mother's family who decided to fill in their census in Irish using gaelic script.

These people are either Γ“ Conghaile, Ui Conghaile or Ni Conghaile.

Told that HEG is the great uncle of ICH.
Not being able to connect easily have clarified generation and yes believed to be ICH's mother's uncle.
It is an area of people with same surnames marrying and close knit community.

Below this commentary is pictorial of two small trees with initials for names that should connect but don't.

MOG is apparently a late birth registration as well .....

Can someone please just check that my thought something is amiss is accurate please.

MOG would be right with either EG or ECG as mother (born out of wedlock) but the mother's maiden name is not G.

Not found any other siblings! Thinking will need to buy MOG birth certificate for more info.
