I understand that fear, and how real the scrapheap likelihood seems. Wish I could be more helpful in reassuring you. I'm glad you're reaching out here. I think it's courageous, too.

I know it's terrifying, James, and it's hard to quieten down the raging questions. I feel sure you'll get through this, though. You're talented, resourceful, and everybody likes you. You maybe can't see it now, but it's true. One day you'll look back on this time, amazed at how well you recovered.
Nice to see you @number10cat.bsky.social - I miss you on Twitter. We all do over there! Hope they unblock you soon.
Trauma affects people differently, James, so there's no set rule. Also, how you're feeling now isn't a good predictor of how you'll feel in a few months, or a year or more. The pain is peaking now but it won't stay at that level. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.
It sounds awful, James, for you and your son. I have faith you'll get through it but I know how hard it can be.
Looks like you've gone through an awful lot James, since I was last here. I'm really sorry to hear it. Hope you're okay.
Good for you! You're a natural. I'm sure they love having you. I've been doing playwriting workshops at a local theatre that hosts them. It was horribly intimidating at first, but once I got over myself it was great to connect with other people in the same boat.
Hi James, I'm so sorry you're struggling. Glad you've found something to help.
"In response to Trump's order, attorneys general in 21 states sued the administration.
Now, after a judge's ruling that Trump's actions were unlawful, libraries and museums across the country will have access to money that had been stuck in a months-long limbo..."

Texan GOP Ted Cruz condemned Brendan Carr's threats to revoke ABC licences, saying govt attempts to police speech are "incredibly dangerous" & could harm conservatives if Democrats return to power.
Glad a GOP Trump sycophant thinks Dems can regain power.

Exactly. But also, IMO there are a lot of people who reject Farage and the right wing media, hate Trump and his agenda, which Farage aims to copy, and will reject Reform at the next election. We just don't get covered by the media.
@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social talks of Farage's YouTube viewership & that of @therestpolitics.bsky.social
Farage is the biggest loser despite being amplified by right wing media & the BBC. IMO it shows that a lot of people don't tap into that crap & see Farage for what he is. A manic ranter.
He's going to bankrupt the country.
This is how to deal with ICE agents. Make them personally responsible for letting themselves be used by Trump. He won't be prosecuted of course. They'll take all the punishment which they deserve. They ruin people's lives!
🚨 MAJOR BREAKING
Democrat Catelin Drey FLIPS Iowa SD-1 — a district Trump won by 11.5 points in 2024 — defeating Republican Christopher Prosch in a landslide special election and breaking the GOP supermajority.
It’s continues to be despicable how the media has spent a decade normalizing the orange felon so much so that they are reporting on his authoritarian militarization of Washington DC as if it were a routine military exercise. They deliberately failed democracy for clickbait.
I'd say it's about right.
Whew. This is moving to watch.
Mussolini tried this; created a dictatorship over 5 years. He thought he was invincible, like Trump does, but he wasn't. Trump isn't either. You can take away people's rights for a bit but you can't take away their power. There's a lot of rage now. Directed at Trump. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/24/u...
I'm not sure about Europeans in general, but I think the leaders get it. IMO that WH meeting wasn't about trying to sweet talk Trump into supporting Ukraine & ditching Putin, it was about cornering him with impeccable manners (!) & showing him - & Putin - Europe's strength & rock solid solidarity.
Nice to know I'm not alone! Solidarity...
I agree. Before the election Labour chose to pursue the far right with a British nationalism drive, abandoning liberals, pandering to Europe/immigrant haters. I vote Labour & I'm not trashing them, but I think that early decision empowered the prejudice & played into the media & far right bias.
Letter from Ed Davey MP to Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, urging him to block Elon Musk’s bid for a UK electricity supply licence.
Britain can’t afford Elon’s next power trip.
Today I’ve written to the Energy Secretary urging him to block Musk’s electricity supply licence. The government should be putting the national interest first, not worrying about upsetting Elon Musk.

A poem I wrote, "Cliches".
Cliches crowd into my head
Jostling for attention,
As if they were famous and important,
As if they were fascinating divas.
Narcissists, all of them!
If I could find a cliché magnet
Or a brain hoover
To suck them all out of my skull
Would I have any words left?
Charlamagne Tha God told Lara Trump on her show that a coup is going on; Trump's Epstein cover-up has alienated his base & given traditional Republicans a way to wrest the Party back from him.
Trump lashed out of course, but he's lost the battle. Shot himself in the foot. Again. Idiot.

I don't know anyone who believes Trump won fairly in 2024. I've always thought people must be investigating, even officially. This podcast explains something of the work being done by @electiontruthalliance.org using data and analyses. It's jaw-dropping. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys0a...
Pope Leo is the best kind of influencer. He's full of life and straightforward integrity. No wonder he drew a million young people to his open-air youth prayer event. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...
There must be a lot of people who are really uncomfortable working there.
