Thanks to @ln4s.bsky.social l for organizing #transitequityday events all across the country!
Without the hardworking operators and mechanics at RTA, we'd never get anywhere. That's why this year we celebrate those hardworking union folks with a gift of coffee and doughnuts to the agency's two district bus garages.
THANK YOU to everyone who came out yesterday to support the MetroHealth Line BRT project! 🚌 Your voices are making a difference for the thousands of daily riders who will benefit from improved reliability and quicker trips on @GCRTA
routes 51/51A, 22, 45, and 25.

It is important for our local politicians to understand what it is like to ride public transit that is used by a large portion of the population!
Support bus/bike lanes on W 25th! Send a letter to Mayor Bibb and let him know you prioritize people over parking on W 25th: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell...
Don’t let disingenuous arguments and exaggerated language like "bus superhighway" shape the future of West 25th. The real debate is whether to cling to yesterday’s parking priorities, or to embrace today’s evidence-driven solutions that prioritize people over cars.
Although transit has only a small percentage of mode share, this represents an opportunity to grow ridership, reduce fatalities, and for
@CityofCleveland
to meet its Climate Action Plan goal of increasing transit ridership by 50% by 2030.

If saftey were really the priority, Sam would support bold transit solutions that attract riders. According to
@APTA_info
and
@Visionzeronet
, even modest increases in transit ridership see large drops in traffic fatalities:

The Market District has ample off-street parking, so keeping parking on W 25th isn’t essential. Reallocating the curb lane to buses and bikes can make GCRTA
more reliable, improve safety by separating bikes from mixed traffic, and improve visibility.
The MetroHealth Line and the other
GCRTA
routes that use W 25th between Lorain and Detroit make it one of the busiest transit corridors in the city, and buses that use this corridor are often delayed. Fixing this requires rethinking curb space.

In his op-ed opposing bus lanes on W 25th, Sam McNulty claims “it isn’t about parking,” yet concludes by demanding on-street parking be preserved. That contradiction shows parking is a core concern-one that risks trading reliable transit for car storage.
Reminder: Tomorrow Monday the 18th is our August Riders Meeting. 6pm at Neighborhood Connections.(Cleveland Foundation building)with free food. Come tell us what you think the perfect transit system would be like?

Thank you everyone for showing up wanting to make transit better here in Cleveland today!
Great news and a big win for @clefortransit.bsky.social, bus riders, the climate, and Ohio City!
Not everyone agrees that traffic routinely delays buses on W 25th, but GCRTA riders live it every day. Sign our petition to support bus lanes on W 25th: actionnetwork.org/letters/clev...
Make sure you sign on to our petition to put bus lanes between Detroit and Lorain.
