I mean, the bull was also provoked. Seems like self defense more than an "accident."

Uh, what? Watched a lot of Samet the last 2 years. You can't teach 7'2", but maybe Indiana's coach will be better at teaching how to catch a ball when rebounding or receiving a pass, how not to bring the ball down when you do catch it, shoot free throws, dunk the flipping ball every dang time.

Us too. We love our trip tree! The kids started choosing a magnet too at some destinations, and it became a nice souvenir to bring home to them on the few trips we didn't take them along, so we do have some select ones on the fridge.

I was going all in on this little fun micro-history of fridge magnets until I got to this paragraph: ... "a solo genius struck with a sudden and remarkable flash of genius, a Great Man (and it is almost always a man)..." What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Indoor sports for the win. Never rained out. Never roasting in the sun.

The burgers are decent, though small and overpriced. Shakes are good. Also overpriced. Fries are meh. Also overpriced. You see where I'm going with this.

Trump, known to be wise when it comes to (1) the appropriate length of time to wait before dating someone new, and (2) how to treat deceased wives.

I recognize carrots and a dry overcooked beef patty, but that slab of grayish meat???? on the left I have no idea.

But if any CFB-sky internet friends want a place in Dallas, close to one of the announced practice facilities, nice walkable neighborhood with nearby restaurants and parks, and don't mind a messy house and won't steal our stuff, hit me up.

We considered listing ours---briefly. The amount of work to get it ready for strangers was just too much. But with 4 bedrooms and plenty of room for more at least 12 people, $4000/week isn't THAT outrageous. That's less than $150 per room per night.

I have 6 pairs in different colors and a couple slightly different styles. Wearing hot pink today! Their "walker" style flats are the most comfortable shoe ever. They hold up too.

OGL is one that I've bought some amazing pants from. Vivaia shoes are more expensive that I think they should be, but I love those dang shoes. I wear almost nothing else to work these days. Kizik too.

Our coach doesn't really "recruit," FYI. Good coaches are careful about stepping on toes, but if a twirler is looking for better coaching...

There's only 1 coach in Dallas that I know of in NBTA (the twirling org that has nationals at Notre Dame every year): ours. (There is one in FW & one in East Texas that I think does some coaching of another OK girl). I probably would know her since she qualified at our regionals.

So probably wouldn't know her as my daughter wouldn't have competed against her.

I am not girly girl. Daughter played many sports. Finally gave up club volleyball after U16s when, to my surprise, she picked twirling and theater.

Came to appreciate the fun of the sparkles, which was definitely not my thing at the beginning. Also the interview component has proved valuable.

Daughter came in 4th at our regional competition -- top 3 qualify. (She's qualified already in a different event). 2 more opportunities to qualify, one of which is this weekend. She's qualified last 2 years. What age is your neighbor? Like I said, it's a small world.

4. It's about the relationships. It's small world, and you're often competing against your friends. Celebrate their victories and they'll celebrate yours. Word travels on the mean girls (and their moms) are. Don't be one of them.

3. Be proud of doing your best regardless of the outcome. You can only control what you put on the floor, not what your competitors are doing and not the subjective feelings of the judge. You'll sometimes lose when you should have won, and you'll sometimes win when you shouldn't have.

2. Put hard tricks in your routine before you master them, don't wait until you're an expert to put them on the floor in front of a judge. You'll only practice the harder skills if they're already in the routine. Once you master them, make the routine even harder.

I will say this in defense of twirling. If you have the right coach with the right mindset, it really does teach some life skills. 1. Dropping is part of the sport (life). Pick up, smile, & keep going. You get credit for how you handle a drop.

Fair. The subjective nature can be frustrating. I've learned to live with it.

The hair and makeup was a big obstacle for me in the beginning. But it always seemed like less of a concern than competitive dance, if you ask me. Costumes in twirling are less skimpy too.

Which part is stressing you out?

Note, I'm referencing some else's analysis mind you, so do what you will with the info.

My understanding is that this is a clip that is misleading, FYI. She is advocating for more pay, and that the way the current law is written doesn't make sense.

I blocked by 29 people, but not on any lists. So there are 29 people out there who individually blocked me for some reason. Must be TCU fans. Or maybe really hate baton twirling?

When the best thing about your bbq is putting it in Brunswick stew, it's not good BBQ. And good bbq shouldn't need sauce, but that's not an excuse to make shitty sauce.

Native of KC, law school in NC, live in Dallas, in laws lived in Tuscaloosa. Came to Texas for college and for years agreed until I tried true central Texas BBQ (which has since migrated to Dallas too). This is KC blashphemy, but I'd choose the best TX BBQ over everywhere else (except burnt ends).
